#yogatutorial - one of the many ways to practice #hollowback is to use a platform on which you can land your feet. Keep your hands about one foot away from the platform and interlace the fingers. Come up to a #headstand or a #pinchamayurasana, and land the feet on the platform. It will feel scary as it will feel very far but #trustyourself. Push down the wrists and elbows into the floor a lot and try to lift the head off the floor. And push the armpits away from the platform as much as you can. With lots of practice you can even #balance yourself without the help of the platform. Keep practicing!
As @dharmayogacenter once said, if you can't do a headstand due to a neck injury, do this instead.

STRETCHING IS IMPORTANT!
It is not enough to build muscle and achieve great cardiovascular strength; you need to think about flexibility too.

WHY STRETCHING IS IMPORTANT?
Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a healthy range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Overtime... when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way: puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I STRETCH TO SEE RESULTS?
Stretching once today won't magically give you increased flexibility. You'll need to do it over time and remain committed to the process but trust me, you’ll see and feel the difference of better flexibility.

Inner thighs:
If knees are too high in butterfly pose, move feet away from you more.
Quads:
Try 1st two variations. Last one is a lil more advanced if you’re super tight.
Back:
For beginners, try 1st & 3rd option. In 3rd one, keep shoulders down.
Set a timer and hold for a minute.

The above is a guide for you but if you’re not anywhere close to “looking like me” don’t worry! Just try your best! More importantly you feel it, and set a goal for yourselves to work on your flexibility!

#yogatutorial - #supersoldierpose - this has become one of my favourite poses to practice and to teach recently. It is as much a #hipopener as it is a #balancingact.
1️⃣ I would say a main prerequisite for this pose is to be able to do #birdofparadise. Keep the shoulder close to the knee of the bound arm - in this case, the left shoulder and left knee.
2️⃣ start to fold forward and shift the body weight to the left foot, but with the left shoulder still near the left knee. Reach the right hand out to the floor and catch the right foot with the left hand.
3️⃣ Kick the right knee up as high as you can to open the hips. Keep the gaze up to the sky and stretch the right hand (the one still on the floor) to the opposite direction of the top knee. Keep breathing.
