9 herbal teas to strengthen the lungs
Of the human organs, the lungs are positioned highest, and they master the body's qi. Strengthening the lungs can improve qi in the body. When there is enough qi in the body, pathogens cannot attack the body easily. Therefore, nourishing lung qi is the first step to improving immune system. We have previously shared 9 soups to strengthen the lungs and are grateful for the positive feedback. These following 9 herbal teas, can be brewed or boiled, can help to improve the immunity system and relieve discomfort. They are suitable to drink at office or home. You can also have rice water everyday to strengthen the spleen and stomach to strengthen your body. Give it a try!

【補氣淮山米水】
功效:健脾補氣,紓緩感覺疲倦、容易反覆腹瀉等症狀。
材料:紅米1湯匙、白米1湯匙、生薏米半湯匙、乾淮山15克
做法:材料洗淨,加入800毫升水以武火煮滾後轉文火煮30分鐘即可。此米水可煮後倒入保溫瓶,反覆沖泡至味淡。
【Rice water with Chinese yam】
Effects: strengthens the spleen and nourishes qi, relieves fatigue or frequent diarrhea
Ingredients: 1 tbsp. of red rice, 1 tbsp. of white rice, ½ tbsp. of raw coix seeds, 15g dried Chinese yam
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Combine all ingredients with 800ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and rice water can be re-brewed until flavor weakens.
【黨參白术茯苓茶】
功效:補脾益氣,紓緩肺氣虛弱的咳嗽、呼吸不暢等症狀。
材料:黨參12克、白术9克、茯苓9克
做法:材料洗淨,加入800毫升水以武火煮滾後轉文火煮30分鐘即可。此茶煮後倒入保溫瓶,反覆沖泡至味淡。
備註:感冒咳嗽、有偏熱症狀如喉嚨痛、黃痰等不宜。
【Codonopsis root tea with atractylodes rhizome and poria】
Effects: strengthens the spleen and nourishes qi, relieves cough caused by insufficient lung qi and difficulty breathing
Ingredients: 12g codonopsis root, 9g atractylodes rhizome, 9g poria
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Combine all ingredients with 800ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed until flavor weakens.
Notes: Not suitable for those with cold/flu and cough, heat-related symptoms such as sore throat and yellow phlegm
【無花果沙參燉梨】
功效:生津潤燥,紓緩肺燥乾咳,口乾、無痰或痰黏等症狀。
材料:雪梨1個、杏仁12克、乾無花果2枚、沙參12克、冰糖適量
做法:
1. 除冰糖外,將材料洗淨,雪梨將頂部位置切開,挖去梨芯。沙參切成小段。
2. 在梨中心加入無花果杏仁沙參及冰糖,蓋上梨蓋後用牙籤固定,放入大碗中。
3. 鍋底加入水及蒸架,用武文煮滾水,放入梨,用文火隔水蒸燉1小時即成。
備註:脾胃虛寒、風寒感冒咳嗽人士不宜。
【Steamed pear with radix adenophorae】
Effects: promotes fluid production and relieves dryness, reliees dry lung and dry cough, dry mouth, lack of phlegm or sticky phlegm.
Ingredients: 1 pear, 12g almond, 2 dried figs, 12g radix adenophorae, appropriate amounts of rock sugar
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients except rock sugar thoroughly. Cut off the top of the pear and remove the core. Cut radix adenophorae into pieces.
2. Add in figs, almond, radix adenophorae and rock sugar into the core of the pear. Put the top of the pear back on and stabilize using toothpicks. Place the pear onto a large bowl.
3. Add water to wok and place the steam rack in. Cook on high heat until water is boiling and put in the bowl with pear. Steam on low heat for 1 hour.
Note: not suitable for those with asthenic cold spleen and stomach, cold-wind flu cold cough.
【藿香茯苓陳皮茶】
功效:行氣化濕,紓緩因為痰濕引致的頭身困重、疲倦不堪的症狀。
材料:藿香6克、白豆蔻3克、茯苓9克、陳皮1角
做法:材料洗淨,加入800毫升水以武火煮滾後轉文火煮30分鐘即可。此茶煮後倒入保溫瓶,反覆沖泡至味淡。
備註:陰虛人士不宜飲用。
【Patchouli tea with poria and dried citrus peel】
Effects: dispels dampness and promotes qi circulation, relieves heaviness of head and body, fatigue due to phlegm and dampness
Ingredients: 6g patchouli, 3g cardamom, 9g poria, 1 dried citrus peel
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Combine all ingredients with 800ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed until flavor weakens.
Note: Not suitable for those with yin deficiency
【桔梗厚樸陳皮茶】
功效:燥濕化痰,紓緩外感引起的胸悶、白天咳嗽較嚴重、痰多色白、肢體睏倦等症狀。
材料:桔梗3克、厚樸6克、杏仁6克、陳皮3克
做法:材料洗淨,加入800毫升水以武火煮滾後轉文火煮30分鐘即可。此茶煮後倒入保溫瓶,反覆沖泡至味淡。
【Radix Platycodi tea with magnolia bark and dried citrus peel】
Effects: dispels dampness and clears phlegm, relieves chest tightness caused by cold/flu, severe cough in the morning, white and excessive phlegm, fatigue
Ingredients: 3g radix platycodi, 6g magnolia bark, 6g almond, 3g dried citrus peel
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Combine all ingredients with 800ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Steam on low heat for 30 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed until flavor weakens.
【魚腥草甘羅漢果茶】
功效:清熱解毒、化痰止咳,適合煙酒過多、咳嗽有黃綠稠痰、經常熬夜人士飲用。
材料:魚腥草12克、甘羅漢果半個
做法:材料洗淨,甘羅漢果壓扁、魚腥草切段備用。鍋內加入約1500毫升水,放入材料,武火煮滾後調文火煮30分鐘,把茶連渣倒進保溫瓶即可。此茶可反覆沖泡至味淡,建議一星期飲用2-3天。
備註:腎功能不全、尿頻、虛寒體質者及孕婦不宜飲用。
【Monk fruit tea with fishwort】
Effect: clears heat and detoxifies, reduces phlegm and relieves cough. Suitable for those who smoke and drink, with yellow, green and thick phlegm, and with frequent late nights.
Ingredients: 12g fishwort, half of a monk fruit
Method: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Squash the monk fruit. Cut fishwort into pieces. Combine all ingredients with 1500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed until flavour weakens. For best results, drink consecutively for 2-3 days.
Note: It is not suitable for those with weak kidney function, frequent urination, with asthenic cold body type and pregnant women.
【太子參薄荷茶】
功效:補氣健脾,清利頭目。紓緩氣短、勞累及改善鬱悶心情。
材料:太子參10克、青瓜4片、青檸汁少許、新鮮薄荷葉5-6片、冰糖適量
做法:
1. 除青檸汁和冰糖外,所有材料洗淨,青瓜切片備用。
2. 鍋內加入約800毫升水,放入太子參,以武火煮至水滾,調文火煮約30分鐘,加入青瓜、薄荷葉、冰糖。煮5分鐘,最後下青檸汁調味即可。
【Radix pseudostellariae tea with mint】
Effects: nourishes qi and strengthens the spleen, improves vision and dizziness, and relieves shortness of breath, fatigue and poor mood
Ingredients: 10g radix pseudostellariae, 4 slices of cucumber, a little amount of lime juice, 5-6 slices of fresh mint, appropriate amounts of rock sugar
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients except lime juice and rock sugar thoroughly. Cut cucumber into pieces.
2. Combine radix pseudostellariae with 800ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Then add cucumber, mint and rock sugar to boil for 5 minutes. Add lime juice to taste.
【黨參麥冬防風茶】
功效:補益肺氣。強身防病、紓緩容易反覆感冒體質及鼻敏感症狀。
材料:黨參10克、麥冬10克、防風6克、蜂蜜適量
做法:除蜂蜜外,材料洗淨,加入800毫升水以武火煮滾後轉文火煮30分鐘即可。此茶煮後倒入保溫瓶,反覆沖泡至味淡。
備註:身體有偏熱症狀、感冒未清者不宜飲用。
【Fangfeng tea with codonopsis root and radix ophiopogonis】
Effects: nourishes lung qi, improves immunity system, relieves frequent cold/flu or nasal allergies
Ingredients: 10g codonopsis root, 10g radix ophiopogonis, 6g fangfeng, appropriate amounts of honey
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients except honey thoroughly. Combine dried ingredients with 800ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed until flavour weakens.
Notes: Not suitable for those with heat-related symptoms and those recovering from a cold/flu.
【參芪豆豉茶】
功效:補氣固表。紓緩鼻敏感如打噴嚏、流鼻水等症狀。
材料:北芪10克、黨參8克、淡豆豉6克、桂枝3克
做法:材料洗淨,加入800毫升水以武火煮滾後轉文火煮30分鐘即可。此茶煮後倒入保溫瓶,反覆沖泡至味淡。
備註:感冒未清者不宜飲用。
【Seng qi tea with fermented soybeans】
Effects: replenishes qi to protect body, relieves nasal allergies symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose
Ingredients: 10 gastragalus root, 8g codonopsis root, 6g fermented soybeans, 3g cinnamon twig
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Combine all ingredients with 800ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed until flavour weakens.
Notes: Not suitable for those recovering from a cold/flu.

不知大家有没有发现最近大马掀起一股越式风~很多大马人选择到越南去游玩,为了是要品尝道地的越南美食哦! 没去过越南的朋友们,没关系,大马也陆续开了很多间正宗越式料理餐厅~
大家一想到越南美食,脑海中是不是浮现了几个美食,如 #越南河粉 "Pho", #越南春卷 Spring roll 和 #越南咖啡 等!
位于槟城土库街 Beach Street 新开了一间越式料理餐厅 «Saigon Bowl», 这里主打越式河粉 "Pho" , 有分为牛肉粉和鸡肉粉哦! 餐厅里的装潢带有时尚感,环境舒适,大门旁还布置了一个小corner让大家拍照哦!
如果大家要吃到正宗越式河粉的味道,当然是点这个招牌 «#越式牛肉粉»啦!经过7小时熬煮的自制牛肉汤头,清甜美味,带出牛肉香味,牛肉汤头是这一道料理的精髓所在啊! 面条吸收了汤汁,牛肉片也被煮得软嫩无比 👍 别说小孩,就连大人吃了也停不了口呢! 简直是 Pho-licious 😋👍
如果没吃牛肉的朋友们,可以选择鸡肉粉,有分为干 (dry pho) 和汤底 (with soup)~此外,还有两款饭类供大家选择~分别是fried chicken rice with sunny side up 和 signature chicken sauce with sunny side up哦!

We heard there were really cute looking Birthday Cake Oreos in America, and when we looked them up we fell in love right away ♥
Since it's close to Moso-Dad's birthday, and we wanted to celebrate the giant Oreo cake video from 2015 passing one billion views ( https://youtu.be/l7TT6DqyQKg ), we decided to make a huge Birthday Cake Oreo cake weighing roughly 1.9 kg!
The hand mixer did some solid work, just like when we made the giant Oreo cake.
*Recipe*
1. Grease the mold with vegetable oil.
2. Sift together 520g of cake flour and 240g of almond flour.
3. Gently mix 760g of pure butter that has returned to room temperature.
4. Add 420g of powdered sugar divided into two batches and mix well.
5. Whip 10 whole eggs and 2 egg yolks in a bowl (the egg whites will be used for making cream).
6. Add 4 to 5 and mix well. It will gradually get harder to mix and easier to separate so make sure 5 is at room temperature. You could also warm it up in hot water in advance.
7. Divide 2 into two batches and add to 6. Mix gently.
8. Add 45g of lemon juice and a touch of vanilla oil to 7. Mix well.
9. Pour the batter from 8 into the prepared mold in 1.
10. Let it rest. Softly depress the center.
11. Cook it for 35 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
12. Check if it's done by inserting a bamboo skewer.
13. Once they're cooled down (let them sit for at least 10 minutes), slice them into two pieces of equal thickness.
14. Remove from the mold.
15. Cut up 100g of white chocolate into small pieces.
16. Add 60g of sugar and 30g of cake flour in a large, heat-resistant baking dish and mix well.
17. Take 240g of milk and pour a little of it into 16.
18. Mix two egg whites into 17.
19. Add the leftover milk from 17 to 18 and mix well.
20. Put it in a 600w microwave for one minute and thirty seconds, then again for one minute and thirty seconds, and then once more for one minute. Mix in between each time.
21. Add 15 and mix well.
22. Add sprinkles and eye-catching Froot Loops into 21. Mix well.
23. Insert 22 into 14.
24. Finished! We regret how we didn't let the butter return to room temperature since that made a lot of trouble for the hand mixer. Time to eat!

日本未発売のキュートなルックスをジャイアントに再現。

今回もジャイアントオレオケーキ同様、ハンドミキサーが死にそうに頑張ってくれてます。
*レシピ*
1.型に植物油を塗っておく。
2.薄力粉 520gとアーモンドプードル 240gを合わせてふるっておく。
3.室温に戻した 無塩バター 760gを柔らかく混ぜる。
4.粉砂糖 420gを2回に分けて加え、混ぜる。
5.全卵 10個と卵黄 2個分を溶きほぐす。(卵白 2個分はクリームに使います。)
6.4に5を加え混ぜる。徐々に混ざりにくく、分離しやすくなるので5はしっかり室温に戻しておく。または少し湯煎して温めておくとよい。
7.6に2を2回に分けて加え、サックリと混ぜる。
8.7にレモン汁 45gとバニラオイル 少々を加え混ぜる。
9.1の型に8を入れる。
10.落として空気を抜く。真ん中を軽くへこませる。
11.180度に予熱したオーブンで35分焼く。
12.焼き上がりを竹串を刺して確認する。
13.粗熱が取れたら(最低でも10分そのまま置く)、厚みをカットして整える。
14.型からはずす。
15.ホワイトチョコレート 100gを小さく折っておく。
16.大きめの耐熱容器に砂糖 60gと薄力粉 30gを混ぜる。
17.16に牛乳 240gの内少量を加え混ぜる。
18.17に卵白 2個分を加え混ぜる。
19.18に17の残りの牛乳を加え混ぜる。
20.600wの電子レンジに1分30秒、1分30秒、1分と3回かけ、その都度混ぜる。
21.15を加え混ぜる。
22.21にスプリンクルに見立てた“FROOT LOOPS”を混ぜる。
23.14に22を挟む。
24.できた。バターが室温に戻ってなくて、ハンドミキサーに負担を強いてしまったこと反省。そして食べる。

Deco Roll Cake
Necessary Equipment:
10-inch square cake pan
electric mixer
2 pastry bags
Ingredients:
((Egg Yolk Batter))
1 egg yolk
35g (1.2oz.) granulated sugar
20ml + 25ml cooking oil
60ml water
a few drops vanilla extract
80g (2.8oz.) cake flour
red food coloring
((Pattern))
1/2 tsp. cake flour for each color
red food coloring
black food coloring
1 egg white
a pinch of cornstarch
((Base Batter))
4 egg whites
30g (1.0oz.) granulated sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
((Syrup))
2/3 tbsp. granulated sugar
20ml hot water
1/2 tbsp. fruit liquor *optional
((Filling))
150ml heavy whipping cream (fresh cream) *chilled
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 tsp. fruit liquor *optional
9 fresh strawberries
Directions:
((Preparation))
1. Cut the silicone baking sheet to fit the size of your square cake pan.
2. Place a paper stencil of your choice under the silicone baking sheet.
3. Grease the silicone baking sheet with cooking oil so that the pattern won't stick to the sheet.
((Egg Yolk Batter))
1. In a bowl, place egg yolk, sugar, and 20 ml cooking oil. Then beat them with an electric mixer until white.
2. Add water, 25ml cooking oil, and a few drops vanilla extract, then mix well. Then sift in cake flour and mix into gruel. *The cake won't crack or break apart in this way.
3. Add red food coloring until you reach your desired pink color.
((Pattern))
1, In two small bowls, place 1 tsp. each of the Egg Yolk Batter.
2. Add red and black food coloring, and 1/2 tsp. cake flour in each bowl.
3. Meringue: In a different bowl, whip egg white with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Add a pinch of cornstarch and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
4. Add 2 tbsp. each of Meringue (3.) into each color (2.) and mix well.
5. Transfer each batter to pastry bags and snip off the end. Then trace the pattern. First, trace the flowers in black and bake in the oven at 170C (338F) for 30 sec. Second, fill in the flowers in pink, trace polka dots with pink and black, then bake in the oven at 170C (338F) for 1.5 min. * Bake until the surface is done. If it's under-baked, just add 30 sec. each until the surface dries out.
((Base Batter))
1, Meringue: In a large bowl, whip egg whites with an electric mixer, until soft peaks form. Then add the leftover meringue and whip them together. Add sugar and whip until stiff glossy peaks form. Then add cornstarch and continue beating until firm peaks form. *If it's thick enough, you can turn the bowl upside down without them sliding out.
2. Add Meringue (1.) into the Egg Yolk Batter 1/3 at a time. Mix until the batter continuously drips back into the bowl like a ribbon when you scoop it up with the spatula. *If the batter is too thick, it will create air holes when baked.
3. Pour and spread the batter into the cake pan. Drop the pan lightly on the counter and tap the bottom of the pan to raise the air bubbles out of the batter. Bake in the oven at 170C (338F) for about 14 min.
4. When it's done, cut around the pan sides where there is no silicone baking sheet. Then cover with parchment paper, flip upside down, and place it on a wire rack. Remove the silicone baking sheet, cover with another parchment paper, and leave to cool.
((Syrup))
1. Mix granulated sugar and hot water until dissolved. Then mix liqueur if you like.
2. Flip the cake upside down, and remove the parchment paper at the back. To roll the cake nice and round, cut off both ends diagonally.
3. Make shallow cuts on the surface, approximately 2cm (2/3-inch) apart. Gently brush the cake with syrup.
((Filling))
1. Combine fresh cream, granulated sugar, and liquor (if you like) in a dry, clean bowl. Float the bottom of the bowl in ice water, whisk the cream until it forms a stiff peak.
2. Coat the surface of the cake evenly with the cream (leave an inch at the top). Then place cut strawberries.
3. Roll up the cake. Twist the ends of the parchment paper to look like a candy wrapper.
4. Chill the cake roll in the fridge for more than an hour. *It becomes really delicious on the next day when the cake and the cream are set.
5. Cut off the both ends and reshape.
6. When you are ready to eat, cut into round pieces. The best way to cut the cake is to use a knife that has been warmed in hot water. Dip the knife in hot water, wipe, and cut. Repeat this each time you cut!

Compared to the store-bought Inariage (flavored Aburaage) they are not too sweet but very mild in flavor. Good for your health! Yummy!!!
In the end of this video, I will share with you some clips from Sakura viewing we went this weekend. Unfortunately Sakura trees were not in full bloom and the weather was cold and cloudy... However, many people were enjoying Sakura :)

Inarizushi
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 1hr
Number of servings: 14 pieces
Ingredients:
660g (1.5lb.) cooked Japanese rice (short-grain rice)
A
* 3 tbsp. vinegar
* 1.5 tbsp. sugar
* 1 tsp. salt
7 Aburaage (deep-fried tofu pouch)
B
* 3 tbsp. soy sauce
* 3 tbsp. Mirin (sweet sake)
* 3 tbsp. sugar
* 300ml Dashi broth or water
roasted white sesame seeds if desired
((Toppings - if desired))
* Ikanago (boiled sand eel) + Kinshi Tamago (shredded egg crepes)
* Ikura (salmon roe) + Kinshi Tamago (shredded egg crepes)
* Ikura (salmon roe) + crab meat
* Shiso leaves + Shirasu (dried baby anchovy)
* Kamaage Sakuraebi (small shrimp) + grated ginger
Directions:
1. Place the Aburaage on a cutting board and trace the Aburaage with a chopstick to make it easy to open. Then cut in halves and open. If you want to make a change, you can turn the skins inside out!
2. Put the Aburaage in boiling water for a minute to remove the excess oil. Drain in a strainer and soak them in a bowl of water to cool. Stack up 3-4 pieces at a time, then drain well (press with your hands) like you make a rice ball.
3. Put B and Aburaage in a medium pan, then bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to low and cover with an Otoshibuta or a wooden drop-lid (you can substitute it with with a sheet of aluminum foil and use any small lid or a plate as a weight if needed) and allow to simmer until the liquid is reduced to 1/4. Stop the heat and let them cool completely.
4. Make Sushi vinegar by mixing A (or use store-bought Sushi vinegar). Add the Sushi vinegar while the rice is hot and slice through the rice using a rice paddle to separate the grains. Mix sesame seeds in the Sushi rice if you like. Divide the rice into 14 equal portions. Wet your hands and make small balls of Sushi rice.
5, Take a piece of Aburaage and lightly press with your hand to remove the excess liquid. Open the pouch and fold back the cut edge to make it easy to stuff the rice. Stuff a ball of Sushi rice to the corners of Aburaage with your fingers, then close the pouch.
Leave the pouch open and top with your favorite toppings, if you like :)
