隱藏於小巷𥚃不容易找但本地頗有名氣的牛肉麵店。
對的,除了林東芳以外,這間也有牛脂,但不是很辣。
牛肉麵加水煮蛋也第一次吃到 (當然在家裡吃時常常會這樣做)。肉不是每一塊都夠嫩, 小菜,麵和雲吞也一般。但這家出名應該是它的湯夠味道,而且喝完也不口渴。
Hidden in a small lane, not easy to find but quite famous for locals.
That’s right, this one also has Beef’s fat paste and it’s not as spicy as Lin Dong Fang.
Adding poach eggs to beef noodle is something new (though I always do that when I eat noodles at home). Not all pieces of meat are tender enough, snacks, dumplings and wonton are not amazing. What this joint is famous for is its soup base. It’s intense enough yet I don’t feel thirsty at all after finishing the whole bowl.

Soup noodles or stirred noodles? If it comes with Pork knuckles, it must be stirred noodles. 湯麵定撈麵?配豬手嘅一定揀撈麵!
Here it is the place where I find my favourite stirred noodles with Pork Knuckles 豬手撈. One common problem with the noodle in many noodle shops in HK is that the noodle/soup is too alkaline. Noodles in Good Hope 好旺角do not have this problem, instead they have a light flavour of pork lard 豬油味😋 I was so surprised to see this huge portion of pork knuckles with red fermented tofu flavour.
When you order a stirred noodle in Hong Kong, a small bowl of soup (yes, that’s the soup when you are having soup wonton noodles) is always offered to you.
How about the congee? We ordered 及第粥 Scholar Congee (HKD$43). If you want to be the first in public exams, this is the congee that you should go for. (But only if you are an adventurous foodie, as it contains different organs of a pig) If this is the first time you had congee, congee in Good Hope is not bad, but if you are looking for very good congee, I think the congee here is not creamy enough 唔夠綿. The best congee I had was in Fu Kee Congee in Mong Kok. Sadly, it was not as good as before.

台北(北投)超群冬粉
是冬粉不是喜餅,為什麼要這樣講,其實我也不知道。
原是一個老兵阿伯開的店,阿伯過世後,轉由他妻子接手。
去到這間店,你只要帥氣的選擇冬粉還麵就好了。
沒有其他菜單、沒有小菜,翁立主食,主食唯一。
號稱專情、專一的這一碗,配料有炸餛飩皮、豬腸、丸子。
湯頭清甜,但最重要的一點是一定要跟老闆娘說要加辣!
他會幫你加上那最經典的辣菜,拌開後就是那碗當年不變的豬腸冬粉。
硬要說跟當年有什麼不一樣的地方,大概就是豬腸份量較少也不像以前一樣挺挺的(恩...挺挺的),但在整碗麵上依舊保持那碗簡單不變但滿足的口感。

Taipei (Beitou) Chao-Qun Glass Noodle
Glass noodle is made by the starch of green beans, each noodle is as clear as glass. This is why it’s called glass noodle.
Chao-Qun was owned by a veteran, his wife took over the business after the veteran passed away. There’s no menu, no side dishes, all you have to choose is the main course: either glass noodle or just regular noodle.
A bowl of soup noodle contains deep-fried wonton skins, pig’s intestines, and fish balls. The soup tastes sweet and delightful, there’s a very attractive relish you can ask, the spicy pickled cabbage. This is the most classical and memorable flavor which impresses your taste buds deeply.
If you wonder what has ever changed after so many years, I’d say probably the quantity of the intestines. But in conclusion, the taste of the soup glass noodle still remains the same, simple and satisfying.

Open Hours: 7 AM to 1 PM. (Another enjoyment for early birds !)
