春天來到,濕度和溫度一起提升,好多人都爭著說要祛濕,不是喝祛濕茶就是煲祛濕湯,然而有濕才可以祛濕,你知道怎樣才是身體有濕的表現嗎?中醫理論認為,人體的水液代謝系統會將多餘的水性穢物排出體外,如果水液運行不暢,就會令濕氣停滯於體內,身體聚濕就會出現容易疲倦、痰多、水腫、大便稀爛等症狀。
想知道自己是否有濕?最近一個月你有以下症狀嗎?
☐舌苔白色或黃色,濕潤黏膩,有如豆腐壓碎後薄薄一層又難以刮掉
☐面油多,頭皮也容易出油
☐痰多,嘴裡有黏黏的感覺

如果你有0-2個症狀,恭喜你身體沒有濕邪困擾,繼續保持吧!
如果你有3-5個症狀,你的身體已開始受濕邪影響,要注意飲食,適量祛濕。
如果你有6-10個症狀,典型的痰濕體質,宜做適量運動,少吃生冷,飲用健脾祛濕湯,促進脾胃功能。
如果你有11-16個症狀,你的濕重問題非常嚴重,快正視問題積極健脾祛濕,諮詢你的註冊中醫師調理身體吧!
Figure out your dampness index
As spring approaches, both the humidity and temperature will rise. Many people rush to dispel dampness by drinking tea or soup. However, people should not dispel dampness unless they really have dampness. Do you know what the symptoms are caused by dampness? Chinese medicine believes that the human body's fluid metabolism system will discharge excess fluid wastes. If fluid does not run smoothly, it will stagnate moisture in the body, leading to the body will becoming wet. This leads to symptoms such as fatigue, sputum, edema and loose stool.
Wondering if you have dampness? See if you have the following symptoms during the last month?
☐White or yellow, damp and sticky tongue coating, similar to crushed tofu. A thin layer that is difficult to brush off.
☐Excessive facial oil and hair oil
☐Excessive phlegm and sticky feeling in mouth
☐Excessive and sticky sweat
☐Dizziness, tight chest
☐Poor appetite, feel full after eating little
☐Abdominal bloating after eating a little
☐Prone to edema, especially in the lower body
☐Fatigue, unenergetic, do not seem to have energy for anything.
☐Murky urination
☐Loose stool, require a lot of tissues to clean up, stool sticks to the toilet and difficult to flush
☐Rounded body shape
☐ Loose muscles
☐Poor sleep quality, feel tired even after 6-8 hours of adequate sleep.
☐Prone to drooling in your sleep
☐Ladies will have white or thick vaginal discharge with heavy odor
Analysis:
If you have 0-2 of above symptoms, congratulations! Your body is free from dampness, keep it up!
If you have 3-5 of above symptoms, your body is starting to be affected dampness. Pay attention to diet and dispel dampness properly.
If you have 6-10 of above symptoms, you have a typical phlegm and dampness body condition. You should do moderate exercise, eat and drink less cold/raw, drink soup that can strengthen spleen and dispel dampness, and promote spleen and stomach function.
If you have 11-16 of above symptoms, you have a serious dampness problem. Face the problem positively and strengthen the spleen and dispel dampness. Consult your registered Chinese medicine practitioner to regulate the body!

如何不做黃面婆
「黃面婆」是家庭主婦的俗稱,其實媽媽們為家庭勞心勞力,卻換來這樣的稱呼實在不公平啊!中醫理論著作《黃帝內經》記載女生「五七(35歲)陽明脈衰,面始焦,髮始墮。」人衰老是自然定律,但如果發現面色特別黃的話,就要注意是否脾氣虛弱的症狀了,因為「脾氣虛,皮膚枯」,脾虛弱就會令皮膚枯黃無光澤,所以要鼓勵媽媽健脾胃,從中醫角度來看,黃色對應脾,不妨多進食黃色食材,同時避免進食生冷、煎炸、甜食;早上9時至11時是脾經循行時間,每天在此時飲用米水有助養好脾。
拒絕做黃面婆飲食調護:
- 適量進食健脾食材如小米、淮山、扁豆、茯苓、黨參、粟米、黃豆、燕麥
- 避免進食生冷寒涼的飲品及食物
- 每日早上9至11時飲用米水,健脾效果更好
小米淮山粟米粥
功效:健脾養胃。此粥可健脾止瀉,適合脾胃虛弱、消化不良等人士。
材料:小米 50克、鮮淮山半根、粟米1根
做法:所有材料洗淨,淮山洗凈削皮切粒狀備用,粟米去皮去衣,切出粟米粒備用。約800毫升水加入小米,以武火煮滾後,加入淮山,轉用文火煮至米爛成粥,如太稠可自行加水。最後10分鐘加入粟米粒即可。
Ways to relieve yellowish complexion
According ancient Chinese medicine book “Huangdi Neijing”, women’s face will look dull and lose their hair starting at age 35. Aging is a normal part of life but yellowish complexion may be a sign of asthenic spleen qi. Asthenic spleen can lead to dull and yellowish complexion without glow. Therefore, you may encourage housewives around you to take care of their spleen and stomach. From Chinese medicine perspective, yellow corresponds with spleen. So eat more yellow ingredients and less cold/raw, fried or sweet food. It’s better to have rice water from 9 to 11 am every day as spleen meridian is on duty at this period.
Diet tips for glowing skin
- Appropriately consume millet, Chinese yam, hyacinth beans, poria, codonopsis root, corn, soy beans, oats to strengthen the spleen
- Avoid cold/raw food or drinks
- Have rice water from 9 to 11 am every day to have improve spleen strengthening effect
Corn congee with millet and Chinese Yam
Effect: Strengthens the spleen and nourishes the stomach. This congee can help to relieve diarrhea and is suitable for those with asthenic spleen and stomach and those with indigestion.
Ingredients: 50g millet, half a fresh Chinese Yam, 1 Corn
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients. Peel Chinese yam and cut into pieces. Peel and remove the husks from the corn. Cut corn kernels off the cob. Cook millet with 800ml of water on high heat until boiling, then add in Chinese yam. Cook on low heat until millet is congee texture. Add in water if it’s too thick. Add corn kernels in the last 10 minutes.

I’ve been getting a whole lot of attention lately about my thick, voluminous locks & I’ve decided I would be doing y’all (ladies AND gents included) a disservice if I did not let you in on HOW I got my new-found thick & lush hair.
I was born with very fine hair & everyone who knew me in my high school years can vouch for me when I tell you that I was forever complaining that I have SUPER LITTLE hair. Heck, even my hairstylists from a few years ago have noticed the vast difference in the thickness of my hair! I kid you not, I have not had this much hair in mah life!!
Here are the list of changes I did to my lifestyle & hair care in the last 2 years (1 year ago was when I saw the difference):
1. I turned vegetarian 2.5 years ago (July 2018). Perhaps eating a plant-base diet indirectly decreased my consumption of sodium & that might be a factor since high consumption of sodium does lead to hair loss.
2. 2 years ago, I completed 2 courses (2 bottles) of “PILFOOD” by BioLife, as per recommended by my family doctor. PILFOOD has since been discontinued, replaced by an improved formula called “REVITIZ” & according to some of my friend’s testimonies based on my recommendation, they’ve seen very positive results (from men AND women alike). For me, after a month of consumption, I noticed a lot of baby hair growth. If you’re concerned about hair growth in other parts of your bodies, I can assure you it did not happen for me; so you ought to be safe 😂 Now for maintenance, I am taking Omega-7 from Seabuckthorn Oil supplements by “SEABUCK WONDERS” for my hair AND skin!
3. I visit @makeoverhairsalon every month for a monthly treatment to keep my scalp cleansed (you have no idea the gunk we accumulate with the pollution in an urban city) and hair follicles constantly moisturized. I believe that nourishing my hair from the outside too could have a significant impact on the life span of my hair.
People around me are still perplexed at how I had a sudden spurt of hair growth!! Hope my testimony would be helpful to those of you who have hair woes, I totally know feel you, so I hope you are able to stay consistent and strong in your choices to a healthier lifestyle! 加油!!

a pinch of salt (or rice seasoning)
1 egg
Hagoromo Deco Furi Rice Sprinkles (Pink and Blue)

Directions:

1. Put steamed rice in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt (or rice seasoning) to season it. Place it in a bento box.
2. Put 1 tbsp. of egg white in 2 small bowls. Mix in a bit of Pink and Blue Rice Sprinkles (leave them for a while to dissolve). If the egg yolk is thick, mix in a bit of milk, then season it with salt to taste. Heat cooking oil in a small pan on low heat, pour the egg mixture in the pan and spread over the surface. Cook the egg until the edges begin to dry, then flip it over and cook the other side.
3. With a permanent marker (Sharpie), trace your favorite Kiki Lala illustration on the parchment paper and cut it out.
4. Place the stencil on the yellow sheet of egg and cut out a star (use a design knife).
5. Cut off the star from the stencil, then cut all parts into pieces.
6. Place the stencils, cut out pink and blue egg to make their hair (use a design knife). Cut out cheese to make their clothes (use a design knife). Cut out ham to make their faces, hands, and feet (use a design knife). Cut out Nori sheet to make their eyes and mouths (use eyebrow scissors).
7. Arrange the parts with tweezers. Garnish with chopped okra stars.
