Two miniature scientists develop bacteria that can decompose plastic to turn garbage into carbon dioxide, water and alcohol!
•
Humans are addicted to plastic that lasts a few minutes, but spend hundreds of thousands of years of biodegradable time. It's time for nature and technology to boost digest. | Recently, there are news of discovering and inventing things that come to biodegradable and eating plastic like mushrooms and worms. A development of bacteria that will help eliminate plastic waste.
•
Scientists, over 20 years old, Jeanny Yao and Miranda Wang develops bacteria that eliminates plastic by turning them into water, carbon dioxide and alcohol.
•
You've been developing this bacteria since you've been studying. You've been looking at jobs and seen a huge landfill problem in Vancouver landfill station in 2011, so you want to fix it.
•
So far, they're already patented with over $ 400,000 funding to develop their products. They've won many awards and are the youngest scientists, Perlman science, science prize, and many more awards.
•
Their plastic removal technology will go through the organic biodegradable process in the same way as the removal process that uses enzymes to digest.
•
Where this technology will be used in 2 ways.
1. garbage disposal on land and beach
2. to create spare ingredients in clothing production.
•
′′ It's almost impossible for us to stop using plastic. So we have to use technology to decompose it. Everything in nature should be biodegradable Miranda Wang
•
′′ In a society that depends on plastic, reducing production is a good goal, but it's not enough. And the garbage that has happened. Plastic takes thousands of years to decay, so instead of waiting for that garbage to be there. And more piles. We have figured out how to make it dissolve with bacteria!" says Jeanny Yao
•
It's another innovation and finding solution to eliminate plastic at the destination. But don't forget that we also have to reduce and stop creating plastic waste from the source.
•
Now she's both turned to a business named Biocollection that stirs up chemical recycling that transforms plastic waste into chemical substances that can be made into a product into a more effective recycling. Find out more at https://www.biocellection.com/

Water is produced by our bodies as a byproduct of the metabolism during a process called cellular respiration, in which glucose and oxygen are used to produce energy for cells. This process is somewhat complicated and involves a number of steps, but water is formed in the final step. This is the same process that produces the carbon dioxide that we exhale. It is also called aerobic respiration because it uses oxygen to produce energy.
During cellular respiration, first glucose (sugar) from the food that we eat is broken down to create the molecules Pyruvate and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the main source of energy for cells and is a powerful energy storage molecule.
Glycolysis utilizes the compounds NAD+ and NADH, two enzymes, to produce some ATP. However, most of the ATP that cells use is made later in cellular respiration. The Pyruvate produced during glycolysis is converted into Acetyl COA. Acetyl COA then enters the mitochondria of the cell to produce further energy in the presence of oxygen. This is when water is produced by the metabolism. In the mitochondria, electrons from the molecules NADH and FADH2 are used for energy to power a set of reactions that will ultimate produce ATP, the powerhouse for the cell.
Toward the end of cellular respiration in the mitochondria, hydrogen and oxygen react together, producing water in the process. The other oxygen atom from this process is used as the final electron acceptor in the electron chain. This is how water is produced in the body; essentially, hydrogen from various coenzymes in the cell combine with oxygen from the lungs and create water as a byproduct.

Hey guys,
Here is another DIY video since you guys like this type of video ^.^ I love it too because I just film what I usually do on days of the week. So this beauty remedy is one of my most sworn by remedies.
My skin is definitely not perfect (I'm a normal girl right?) and stress, climate, pollution etc can all take impact on my skin. Ps. yes i still have dark circles. They are immense.
You guys have heard me talk about my love for 'Natural Yogurt' for over 2 years now. It is nothing new. It works great among side with other ingredients like lemon, strawberries, oatmeal etc but also works amazing on its own too. I swear by home remedies. They are fun & effective.
Natural yogurt contains lactic acid and beneficial enzymes that helps to you're your skin hydrated and radiant. It softens the skin, brightens a dull complexion and helps to remove redness in the face. It cleanses the skin and treats blemishes giving you a clear & smooth complexion. Just like how it can cleanse the skin- it cleanses the hair and conditions it for silky smooth hair. Natural yogurt can also treat the scalp if you have dandruff problems. You can even use it on your body because it solves skin problems such as irritations, itchiness and eczema.
You can find Natural Yogurt in your local supermarket (not processed flavoured ones lol).
A large tub costs 99p. When I buy one tub- I apply it as a facial every night and it lasts me at least for a good week! So affordable!! You never need to splash out $$$ on expensive masks when you can make beauty treatments in your own kitchen.
If you apply the yogurt mask every night for 7 days, you will feel as if your skin just drunk gallons of water because it will feel extremely hydrated. The texture should be smoother. Your skin should look a lot brighter too. This remedy has made me feel more confident in going out without makeup on ^^.
If you have coloured hair like myself, straighten/curl your hair often, use hairsprays/clays; treat your hair from time to time. Another great hair remedy is using coconut milk. It works wonders too. I am more low maintanence on the hair so I only apply once a week. Remember- hair masks can help but only to a certain extent. If you have split ends- trim them before they split further.
Yogurt is a dairy product so if you are allergic to dairy; do not try this.
It takes guts for makeup gurus to put themselves bareface without makeup out in the scary web infront of thousands of people. People are bound to judge how I look without my makeup/mask. *shrugs* I'm comfortable in my own skin =). It's all that matters ^^. Makeup doesn't make me beautiful. Confidence does. I am aware of my flaws and I don't feel need to conceal them.

[10 REASONS WHY ASIANS DON'T GET FAT]
Now of course, there are Asians who are fat or chubby, so the title is a bit of a generalized statement or stereotype, but as a whole, there's definitely some truth to it. Genetics is an obvious factor so I'm gonna leave that one off the list.
1. Fish & Seafood
Asians eat a lot of seafood. The biggest benefit to eating fish is the omega-3 fatty acids. Fish gives our brain and body the DHA & EPA it needs. EPA in particular has been shown to prevent obesity. 1.5 to 2 grams daily of fish oil can produce weight loss of a couple pounds over a period of a month.
2. Cooking Methods
If you compare Western and Asian eating habits, sure they both consume deep fried foods, but Asian countries vary their cooking methods a lot more.
3. Food Perception
How people see and experience food can be different depending on where you are. In America, for example, food is seen more as entertainment. There is desire, joy and anticipation associated with eating. Not that it isn't in Asian countries, but it's a lot more toned down. Eating has more of a practical feel, in many cases closer to being a chore rather than entertainment.
4. Portion Size
Asians eat smaller portions. Food is often served in small serving bowls and small plates and this helps regulate how much is consumed in one sitting. Now if we take a look at America? SUPERSIZE!
5. Leafy Greens
Asian portion size in general might be smaller, but their vegetable portion size is consistently larger. In many Asian countries, people don't even need to be reminded to eat their veg. It's just ingrained.
6. Drink Habits
It is a common belief that drinking water, especially cold water, with your meal is a habit that one should avoid, as it dilutes your digestive enzymes and makes it harder for your stomach to digest food. Americans often drink cold water or sodas with their meals, not so much for Asian people however. Rather they drink hot teas before or after a meal. I should note that many experts say this is greatly exaggerated and that it's generally ok to drink water with your meals.
7. Population Density
Many Asian countries & cities are densely populated. There are lots of people living in small apartments and almost everything you need is just round the corner. Leading one to possibly conclude that many Asian people must exert less energy in their daily lives. In actuality, Asian people in this circumstance may end up walking more. With everything being in close proximity, they are more inclined to just walk to their destination, whereas in many Western countries, distances are often too great.
8. Fermented Foods
Asians consume more fermented foods such as miso, natto, tempeh, kimchi, kombucha, etc, and this is not just good for your gut health, but helps reduce the overall inflammation in the body. And inflammation is a contributing factor to weight gain and obesity.
9. Snacks & Desserts
This one's quite simple. Asian snacks, healthy, Western snacks, not so much. Asian snacks and desserts may be rice cakes, red beans, seaweed snacks, nuts, seeds, and lots of fruit. For Western snacks and desserts, you have cookies, chips, ice cream, sugary cakes.
10. Prevention vs Treatment
Asians practice prevention, while others practice treatment. With the Western approach, you have your antibiotics, antacids, NSAIDs, quick, temporary, remedies that might actually hurt you in the long run. The Asian approach attempts to get to the root of the problem using nutrition, healthy habits, prevention practices. It's a societal mindset. Health is not simply the absence of sickness.
