有沒有發現自己在夏天又或是吃得熱氣時特別容易出現敏感、濕疹或風癩?其實多離不開濕、熱。天氣炎熱或曬太陽後,身體皮膚氣溫也會升高,血液運行得快、流汗多了會令人對痕癢特別敏感,所以夏天的「外熱」和潮濕,加上飲食習慣不良好,經常食辛辣油膩溫熱食物,就會引起「內熱」,外內一起濕熱,就更容易出現皮膚敏感等症狀。所以在天氣炎熱時適度地清熱袪濕,飲一個能輕輕清熱去濕的素湯也不錯!
材料:新鮮粟米鬚80克(約2兩)、粟米1根、紅蘿蔔1根、馬蹄8-10枚、無花果3枚
做法:將材料洗淨。粟米及紅蘿蔔去皮切段,馬蹄去皮。鍋內加2000ml水,加入所有材料,武火煮至水滾,改文火煮1小時,調入適量鹽即可。
功效:清熱利水消腫,舒緩身體浮腫、口臭、消化不良、大便不暢等症狀。脾胃虛寒,容易胃痛腹瀉的人不宜多飲。

Ever find yourself experiencing more allergies, eczema or rash than usual during the summer or when you’ve eaten more hot-natured foods? Most of these issues are related to dampness and heat. When it’s so hot or after being in the sun, your skin temperature will also increase and your blood circulation will speed up leading to additional sweating. This causes the allergic reaction and itchy. When you have external heat and humid during the summer added with poor dietary habits, such as frequent consumption of spicy oily hot-natured foods, it will lead to internal heat. Combining internal and external heat and dampness, it can easily lead to skin allergies. So when the weather is so hot, it’s important to appropriately clear heat and remove dampness. Try this vegetarian soup for this exact purpose!
Ingredients: Fresh corn silk 80g (about 2 catties), 1 ear of corn, 2 carrots, 8-10 water chestnuts, 3 figs
Preparation method: Rinse ingredients thoroughly. Remove husk from corn, peel carrots, and cut both into pieces. Peel the water chestnuts. Combine ingredients with 2000ml of water in a pot, and place over high heat until the water boils. Switch to low heat and simmer for 1 additional hour. Add salt to taste.
Effects: Clears heat, promotes diuresis and relieves swelling. Alleviates swelling, bad breath, indigestion, and difficulty passing stool. Not suitable for those with asthenic cold stomach and spleen or those prone to stomache and diarrhea.

健脾祛濕湯水小貼士:
適當地添加健脾祛濕的食材如冬瓜、薏米、淮山、赤小豆等。
木瓜棕櫚果米湯
功效:健脾祛濕,紓緩面黃、胃脹、食慾差、食少腹脹等症狀。
材料:熟木瓜1個、紅蘿蔔1根、棕櫚果4塊、海玉竹15克、燕麥米水粉(一包)或1/3米杯小米
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨,木瓜去皮去籽切大塊,紅蘿蔔去皮切大塊備用。
2. 鍋中加入2000毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮1.5小時,最後下鹽調味即可。

Soup to improve complexion

Individuals with a weak spleen will have dull and yellowish skin, experience appetite loss, chest tightness, secretion of excessive phlegm and loose stools.
When the qi in the spleen does not circulate effectively, the dampness will be trapped in the body, as if it is wrapped by a wet towel. This is why some people are constantly tired and refuse to move. In order to improve this condition, you will need to strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness.
Papaya can strengthen the spleen and stomach, dispel dampness, relieve the tendons and improve digestion; it is suitable for individual with a weak spleen and stomach, and those who often experience bloating. On the other hand, fox nut, which is an ingredient commonly used to strengthen the spleen and dispel dampness, can also strengthen the spleen, relieve diarrhea and nourish the qi. Take good care of the qi in the spleen, your skin will radiate with a healthy glow.
Tips for soup to strengthen spleen and dispel dampness:
Appropriately add in ingredients such as winter melon, coix seed, Chinese yam and rice bean etc.
Papaya soup with dried sea coconut and millet
Effects: Strengthens spleen and dispels dampness. Improves yellowish complexion, relieves abdominal bloating and poor appetite.
Ingredient: 1 ripened papaya, 1 carrot, 4 dried sea coconut, 15g polygonatum root, 1 sachet of Oats Rice Water or 1/3 cup of millet
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Peel and core papaya and cut into pieces. Peel carrot and cut into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2000ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1.5 hour. Add salt to taste.
