讀到一篇文章，適合好好討論一下
到底怎麼樣中英文才叫做「夠好」？
誰說了算？
前幾天我寫拜登不一定是口誤，但肯定是文法不嚴謹，被川粉覺得我在挺拜登，於是轟我英文爛（我笑笑）
政治狂熱/恐慌讓人失去理智，這我很肯定XD也是底下那篇文章的重點
不過我想討論的是語言能力
試著還原一下文章提到的口譯現場
沒找到英文原文
不過根據文章，應該是這樣：
導演：「沒有細節的歷史是抽象的」
被翻成
History is blurry.
（歷史是模糊的）
這樣翻的確比較概括化，漏掉細節
History without details is abstract. 才完整
無論如何，因此上綱台獨真的很荒謬，因為那位譯者是天津人啊，完全錯誤推論（為什麼不是疆獨或藏獨？）
回歸語言能力這題目
也許譯者中文理解不夠細緻
也許只是希望現場精簡表達
也許原文太長記不住，偏偏那句被挑毛病
我不在現場，也問不到本人，不得而知
但譯者離開中文環境後未必繼續精進中文
有很大可能是中文理解不夠精緻
只能因此採取大概翻法
這就是廣義的「中文不夠好」
至於英文表達能力，此處線索不足，先不推論
那到底怎樣才夠好呢？
我以專業回答：永遠都不夠好
因為語言和知識不斷更新
只仗著是母語絕對不夠
不然所有雙語人不就都能翻譯了？
唉還真的很多老一輩根深蒂固那樣想
專業翻譯除了經過訓練
還持續透過實務經驗鑽研語言、文化差異
不斷吸收、更新自己的雙語甚至多語知識
結論是，翻譯請找專業
（當然再專業的遇到政治狂人也沒輒，畢竟他們不講道理哈哈哈）
而對語言有興趣的人
未必要當專業翻譯
只要讓自己有鑑別能力即可😉
