素食菇菇套餐中常見的杏鮑菇與秀珍菇竟然吃葷?
本院分子生物研究所薛雁冰助研究員帶領研究團隊發現「#杏鮑菇麻痺殺死線蟲」的秘密!研究成果近期也登上國際期刊《美國國家科學院院刊》(PNAS)。

蠔菇、杏鮑菇等側耳屬(Pleurotus)真菌為相當常見的食用菇類,亦稱為食肉真菌。科學家發現在貧瘠環境中,這些菇類的菌絲會麻痺並殺死線蟲以獲取養份,但是對此快速麻痺機制所知甚少。所以,薛雁冰研究團隊利用模式生物 ——秀麗隱桿線蟲(Caenorhabditis elegans)來研究食用菇類麻痺線蟲的分子機制。團隊發現當線蟲碰到蠔菇的菌絲釋放的毒素時,線蟲肌肉裡的鈣離子濃度會異常的飆高,使得肌肉過度收縮而麻痺癱瘓。

除了上述提到的食用菇類之外,研究團隊亦發現「#線蟲捕捉菌(Nematode-trapping fungi, NTF)」,在環境養分不足的條件下可以感知到線蟲的存在,發育出具黏著力的 #陷阱(捕捉構造)來捕捉線蟲。研究團隊將一株產孢、生長能力與製造陷阱能力均突出的線蟲捕捉菌進行基因體定序解碼,以期深入研究線蟲捕捉菌捕捉線蟲的分子機制,並進一步發現,線蟲捕捉菌需要G蛋白的訊息傳遞才會產生捕捉構造,證明了G蛋白在線蟲捕捉菌的捕食行為中扮演重要角色。此次發現可望在未來發展出有效的生物防治方法,來防治危害農業的寄生性線蟲。

🍄Sensory cilia as the Achilles heel of nematodes when attacked by carnivorous mushrooms│
Oyster mushrooms, one of the most common edible fungi, prey on nematodes under starvation conditions. They produce potent toxins which paralyze the nematodes within minutes. Dr. Yen-Ping Hsueh’s group at Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica, use the model nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans, to investigate how does mushroom paralyze and kill the nematodes. In their article titled “Sensory cilia as the Achilles heel of nematodes when attacked by carnivorous mushrooms” published in PNAS, they demonstrated that the contact of the fungal hyphae of oyster mushroom triggered massive calcium influx and rapid cell necrosis in the neuromuscular system of C. elegans via nematode’s sensory cilia.

The living component of soils and the interactions among them play central roles in various aspects of biogeochemistry. These include some of the most abundant organisms on Earth such as fungi and nematodes. The lab led by Dr. Yen-Ping Hsueh at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Academia Sinica studies the interactions between nematodes and nematode-trapping fungi (NTF). NTF are predatory fungi preying on nematodes when food sources are limited.

🔥本院研究最新發現:燃燒脂肪的關鍵!🔥
原來肥胖症和人體內的一種基因 Naa10p 表達過量有關。
肥胖症與糖尿病、心血管疾病、中風和癌症等疾病息息相關,其中,飲食誘導的肥胖(Diet-Induced Obesity, DIO)🍔🍖🧀更是全球關注的重要議題。
本院基因體研究中心阮麗蓉研究員帶領的研究團隊發現,利用全身和脂肪專一性剔除 Naa10p 基因的小鼠🐁不僅明顯瘦小,也大大促進了米色脂肪細胞的生成及產熱效應,達成預防高脂肪飲食引起的肥胖。
阮麗蓉表示,未來若藉由抑制成人脂肪組織中的 Naa10p 的酶活性,將可以抑制飲食誘導性的肥胖。

"Naa10p Depletion Burns Fat"
A team led by Dr. Li-Jung Juan of Genomics Research Center, Academia Sinica, re-ported an unexpected function for Naa10p, which is primarily known to acetylate nascent peptides from ribosomes, in repressing energy expenditure, thermogenesis and beige adi-pocyte differentiation. These results, published online in the journal Molecular Cell on Aug 12, also suggest inhibiting Naa10p enzymatic activity can be a promising strategy in treating obesity.
