Ini adalah kisah transformasi Mahirah Helmi dari 2013. Kenapa post lagi sekarang? kerana ia reminder bahawa obesiti BUKAN disebabkan baka atau warisan keluarga.

Nama saya Mahirah Binti Ahmad Helmi dan berasal dari Rawang, Selangor. Arwah ayah merupakan seorang yang berbadan besar.
Keluarga saya memang suka makan. Sejak kecil saya sudah didedahkan dengan pelbagai jenis makanan terutamanya ‘fast food’. Ye, saya amat menyayangi KFC dan Mc’D berbanding makanan tradisi Malaysia. Selepas akil baligh, berat saya naik mendadak. Seingat saya, ketika darjah enam. Berat saya mencapai 60 kg. Malu sangat ketika sesi timbang berat.
Berat 80kg Di Sekolah Menengah
Ketika di sekolah menengah, berat saya naik lagi sehingga mencapai 80kg. Walaupun menyertai sukan hoki , berat saya hanya turun sedikit sahaja, maklumlah, lepas latihan semestinya McD menjadi pilihan. Pengetahuan tentang diet memang kosong walaupun niat untuk kurus sudah ada. Setiap hari pasang niat untuk kurus. Tapi yelah, niat jelah. Tindakan tiada langsung.
Selesai menduduki SPM, maka tiadalah lagi aktiviti sukan dan yang ada hanyalah aktiviti kuak lentang atas katil a.k.a tidur. Kononnya nak balas dendam. Oleh sebab itu, berat badan naik lagi sehingga 110kg.
Dipanggil Doktor Kerana Gemuk.
Saya diterima masuk ke IPTA dan masih teringat yang saya dipanggil oleh doktor di pusat kesihatan UKM kerana masalah kegemukan. Mula-mula berkobar semangat nak turunkan berat tapi semua itu hanyalah hangat-hangat tahi ayam. Tinggal di universiti tanpa pengawasan ibu bapa, menyebabkan saya semakin ‘liar’ terhadap makanan. Bayangkan pukul 3 pagi, lepak di mamak sambil menikmati maggi goreng ayam dan teh tarik. Kadang-kadang siap tambah, roti canai sekeping! Berat semakin naik.
Masuk semester terakhir, saya mula risau. Risau akan berat yang semakin naik. Saya mula berdiet tetapi yoyo diet. Hampir juga saya untuk membeli beberapa produk yang menjanjikan berat turun dalam masa singkat. alhamdulillah, nasib tidak terjebak. Kalau terjebak, mesti menyesal sebab kawan-kawan yang terjebak tiada seorang pun berjaya kurus.
Selepas graduat, McD tetap menjadi pilihan.
Saya graduat pada bulan Ogos 2010 dan diterima bekerja pada bulan November 2010. Mula-mula bekerja pun saya masih kekal dengan gaya hidup lama. Mc’D menjadi pilihan memandangkan cepat dan senang.pandu lalu, turunkan sahaja tingkap kereta, pesan makanan, bayar, terima makanan dan bayar! Mudah bukan. Dan berat naik kembali.
Sehinggalah pada bulan Disember 2011, saya mula berdiet mengikut plan yang disediakan di sebuah laman web dan kemudian saya mula tinggalkan ‘fast food’ dan makan dengan sihat. No more fast food, no more carbonated drinks!
I really inspired with people yg dah kurus tanpa makan apa2 products kt web kevinzahri.com i selalu baca tip-tip yang diberi. Mula-mula dengan diet, senaman dan supplements. So within 15 months, alhamdulillah. I’ve made it! Thanks kevin!
Tip yang saya amalkan:
- Amalkan makan bijiran, oat
- Minum susu low fat
- Makan mengikut jumlah kalori diperlukan selalu rujuk cekodok.com.
- Mula bersenam. Tapi memang agak payah nak mulakan sebab malu nak berlari.
- Makan buah-buahan segar dan sayur-sayuran.
- Amalkan calorie deficit (diajar melalui eBook Kevin Zahri).
- Eat healthy foods only tapi ada sehari seminggu untuk cheat day.
Alhamdulillah, sehingga Mac 2013 saya berjaya menurunkan berat badan dari 97 kg ke 64 kg, iaitu sebanyak 33 kg dikurangkan. Ketinggian saya adalah 165 cm.

Second, is to do regular full body workouts, which include both cardio and strength training, at least 3 -- 4 times weekly.

And the third step is to do workouts, which train your Transverse Abdominis or your T Abs. This muscle is the deepest of all the abdominal muscles, and it holds everything in. So working on your T abs will not only contribute to a flat tummy, but is vital in preventing low back pain by stabilizing your spine and pelvis.
This is what the workout aims to do. Only 5:30 minutes long and I want you to do this workout 2 -3 times weekly for best result. It's going to be fun and sore! =)
