Har Cheong Gai aka 虾酱鸡 (Prawn Paste Chicken), is one zi char dish EVERYONE loves, it's a mark of a true blue local.
We're glad to say that we are damn proud of our recipe, it's definitely AS GOOD AS those outside, or even better (we mean what we say!). With the right steps, you'll be able to achieve an absolutely awesome HCG, crispy on the outside, and full of juicy flavours on the inside. The pinnacle of crispy chicken perfection!
After testing out with both corn starch and potato starch batter, we decided on the potato starch batter as its gives that layer of crispy crunch to the wings that we love. 4 hours of marinating is just nice, so the wings don’t end up overly salty.
One thing to take note, if you’re deep frying the wings straight out from the fridge, make sure to bring the oil all the way up till it smokes, as the cold wings will reduce the temperature when you drop them it.

This fluffy peanut pancake invokes lots of childhood memories for us. Who doesn’t love a moist and fluffy pancake, stuffed with a generous portion of crushed peanut? Min Chiang Kueh when done right, should have a nice honeycomb structure. This is what makes the pancake fluffy.
Well well well our favourite part is still the thin crust that surrounds the actual pancake. Which kid (or adult) doesn’t like that huh?

Lay down a biscuit at the bottom, pour the cake batter, place a biscuit on top, and then bake! We tried to make the cheesecake biscuit sandwich as one complete piece. Use the cheesecake batter a bit heavily so that the bottom biscuit does not float. The point of this recipe is to cool it well and then cut it up. This time we were ImpulsiveGourmet and failed at the cutting. We wish we would have had enough time to let it sit in the refrigerator before cutting!
*Recipe* (18 square centimeter mold per piece)
1. Soak 12 biscuits in a small amount of milk. Be careful not to let them become too soft.
2. Lay down the biscuits in the molds. In the case that a biscuit does not neatly fit into a mold, cut it with a kitchen knife.
3. Mix 250g of softened cream cheese.
4. Mix in 80g of sugar.
5. Mix in 100g of sour cream.
6. Mix in one beaten egg.
7. Mix in 100g of fresh cream.
8. Strain and pour the mixture from Step 7 into the mold from Step 2.
9. The 12 biscuits that had been soaked using the method from Step 1 should gently be placed on top of the mold from Step 8. At the time that they are cut, they should all vertically line up with the bottom.
10. Pour hot water into a baking tray and place what you made in Step 9 onto it.
11. For 40 minutes, bake it in an oven that has been preheated to 160 degrees.
12. Cool it in a refrigerator for one night.
13. In good time, cut it up. Make sure not to repeat the mistake of ImpulsiveGourmet.

*レシピ*(18センチのスクエア型 1個分)
1.ビスケット 12枚を少量の牛乳に浸す。柔らかくなりすぎないように注意。
2.型にビスケットを敷き込む。型にキッチリと入らない時は包丁でカットする。
3.やわらかくしたクリームチーズ 250gを混ぜる。
4.砂糖 80gを入れ混ぜる。
5.サワークリーム 100gを入れ混ぜる。
6.溶き卵 1個を入れ混ぜる。
7.生クリーム 100gを入れ混ぜる。
8.2に7をこしながら流し込む。
9.1の要領で浸したビスケット 12枚を8の上にそっとのせる。切り分けた時に上下が揃うようにボトムと合わせて並べる。
10.天板に湯を張り、9をのせる。
11.160度に予熱したオーブンで40分ほど焼く。
12.冷蔵庫で一晩ほど冷やす。
13.余裕をもって切り分ける。くれぐれも妄想グルメの轍を踏まぬように。

Strawberry Shortcake (Birthday Cake Recipe)
Difficulty: medium
Time: 2 hours (6 hours or a day cooling time)
Number of servings: 1 cake
Necessary Equipment:
18cm (7.1-inch) round cake pan
electric mixer
Ingredients:
((Sponge Cake))
2 eggs *room temperature
60g (2.1oz.) granulated sugar
60g (2.1oz.) cake flour
20g (0.7oz.) melted unsalted butter
((Syrup))
20ml hot water
1/2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 tsp. rum *kirsch, brandy, or any kind of liquor you like
((Decoration))
fresh strawberries
300ml fresh cream (heavy whipping cream)
1&1/2 tbsp. granulated sugar
a few drops vanilla extract
1 tbsp. rum *kirsch, brandy, or any kind of liquor you like
Directions:
((Sponge Cake))
1. Line the round cake pan with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 170C (338F).
2. Beat eggs with wire whisk in a metal bowl. Mix sugar and place it over a bowl of hot water and melt the sugar and warm them up to body temperature. Then remove from the hot water and beat the batter on high speed with an electric mixer until white and fluffy. Then on low speed, beat for about a minute to set the texture.
3. Sift in flour little by little and gently cut through the mixture with wire whisk until somewhat combined. Then using spatula, sprinkle melted butter, and quickly lift up the batter to mix.
4. Pour the batter from heights of 11 inches (30 cm) into the pan (like ribbon) and drop the pan lightly on the counter to raise the air bubbles out of the batter.
5. Bake at 170C (338F) for 25 minutes.
6. Place a cutting board and a paper towel on a wire rack. Then place the cake pan upside down and cool with the pan on top.
7. When it's completely cool, wrap with plastic wrap and rest the sponge cake in the fridge for a few hours. *you can store it in the fridge for 2 to 3 days and decorate the cake when needed
((Syrup))
1. Mix granulated sugar and hot water until dissolved. Then mix rum (if you like).
((Decoration))
1. Combine fresh cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and rum (if you like) in a dry, clean bowl. Float the bottom of the bowl in ice water, whisk the cream until it forms a soft peak.
2. Slice the sponge cake crosswise into 2 layers. Gently brush the sponge cake with syrup (brush all the surfaces which will be coated with cream).
3. Place one layer of the sponge cake on a plate. Coat the surface of the sponge cake evenly with the cream. Place cut strawberries over the creamed surface. Then coat again with the cream. Place another layer of sponge cake, and frost top and side with the cream. Garnish with strawberries.
4. Rest the cake in the fridge for 1 or 2 hours before you serve. In this way, you can easily cut the cake.

Today,I did takoyaki party ( ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special moulded pan. It is typically filled with minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps ) with my friend that visited me the last time in previous video, we made the takoyaki in 10 different way and different ingredients like scraps , diced octopus , pickled ginger, and green onion , and ranked them from the top to the worst, watch the video to know more about the ranking, with different type of beers, all that is so high in calories . it was so delicious and tasty in really unique and different ways and we don't forget that it was so enjoyable as well , i like it !!!
