Today marks a dozen years of being hubby and wifey.
If I were to say that through this time, I have figured out what marriage is all about, how to keep the spark going or how to be a good partner, that would be a lie.
The truth is marriage is a constant work in progress and love is a journey, not a destination. There will be times when we question ourselves, when we feel exhausted and underappreciated, when we wonder if this is gonna be what it's like for the rest of our lives. Even the past few weeks of staying home and seeing each other much more than usual can put a couple's love and endurance to the test too, don't you agree?
I don't think we will ever figure it all out, or maybe we will only have done so when we are both old and wrinkly. When that day comes, we will realise how lucky we are to still have each other by our side, for better or worse. Hopefully by then, we would have fulfilled our long-held dream of returning to Las Vegas sans kids, which was what we did on our honeymoon.
For now, let's count our blessings more, be thankful for how far we've come and how much we've grown, try to accept and not annoy each other (which is quite impossible, haha), and learn to love harder and cherish deeper.
