今天在黃金海岸的Movie World遊樂園排隊時，聽到後面一位澳洲媽媽大叫：「天哪！看看妳，哪裡搞得一身那麼多顏色啊！」
轉頭，見到一個大約五歲的金髮小女孩，身上的衣服看起來像是被泥土、食物色素和番茄醬蠟染似的。
那位媽咪接下來的一句，倒是令我更吃驚：
「這象徵著妳有了超棒的一天，親愛的！」
(It’s the sign of an awesome day, Love!)
看那小女孩開心的樣子，
突然覺得，這個媽咪的境界好高！

Semalam ketika saya menjadi panel untuk live event mengenai Pendidikan Literasi Kewangan anjuran Bank Negara Malaysia, anak ke-2 saya @fieradzfazley nak dipeluk dan nak bermanja.
Semua orang #WFH sekarang. Ada ibu bapa yang stress apabila anak-anak kerap ganggu and enter-frame waktu live meeting atau live event.
Tapi saya telah memilih untuk tidak menghampakan anak-anak yang datang pada saya ketika saya sedang live. Sama ada saya pegang tangan atau jari mereka di luar screen, atau peluk je mereka seketika.
Saya percaya, yang ternampak, tidak akan mengecam. Jangan sesekali marah anak yang datang sekadar untuk pegang tangan atau peluk kita. Mereka hanya inginkan perhatian. Asalkan mereka tak buat bising. Ini cara saya, lain orang lain cara. Apa pendapat korang?

Motherhood is waking up 7am to chiong to the beach with my daughter so she doesn't get burn from the scorching sun.
Motherhood is lugging 2 big bags full of her things that i need, may need and likely wouldn't need (but bring it anyway, just in case).
Motherhood is learning to let go - closing one eye to her eating sand and chewing her toy soaked in seawater, even though it made me cringe everytime she does it, bcos i know it's good for her sensory development.
Thank you Layla. You make motherhood so fun for me! I love your enthusiasm and spontaneity, I love how well you respond to my plans!
