Saya telah berjumpa dengan YAB Datuk Haji Hasni Bin Mohammad, Menteri Besar Johor, YB Datuk Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, EXCO Pelancongan, Belia dan Sukan, dan YB Dato’ Haji Azmi bin Rohani, Setiausaha Kerajaan Johor pada hari ini (4 Julai 2021). Dalam perjumpaan tersebut saya telah menitahkan agar kerajaan negeri mempercepatkan lagi pelaksanaan inisiatif-inisiatif melawan pandemik Covid-19 yang kini dalam keadaan yang kritikal.
Sehingga kini, statistik Covid-19 masih menunjukan jumlah kes harian yang tinggi. Rakyat kini sudah dikurung hampir dua bulan dan saya bimbang rakyat kini mengalami masalah kesihatan mental dan fizikal yang teruk. Di samping itu, masalah sosioekonomi juga tertimbul akibat situasi ini yang berpanjangan. Saya berpendapat bahawa SOP patut dikaji semula secara holistik dan berasaskan data yang sahih. Setakat mengurung rakyat sudah tidak lagi relevan.
Penggunaan ‘rapid test kit’ dan test kit peribadi juga perlu diperkenalkan secepat mungkin untuk semua orang dan digunakan secara meluas khususnya untuk sektor-sektor yang penting selain daripada para barisan hadapan, khususnya sektor kritikal yang melibatkan pemprosesan ubatan, bahan makanan dan barang keperluan asas. Rakyat juga patut disaringkan secara meluas dan divaksinasi secepat mungkin.
Saya juga telah menitahkan agar proses vaksinasi untuk Bangsa Johor dipercepatkan melalui pelbagai inisiatif, termasuk untuk kerajaan negeri Johor memperolehi vaksin secara pembelian terus. Dengan ini, saya berharap kita akan berjaya mengatasi pandemik ini. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

I met with Johor Menteri Besar YAB Datuk Haji Hasni Bin Mohammad, Johor State Exco for Tourism, Youth and Sports Datuk Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi and Johor State Secretary YB Dato' Haji Azmi bin Rohani today (4 July 2021). During the meeting, I decreed to the state government to expedite initiatives to combat the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently in a critical condition.
To date, the Covid-19 statistics indicate a high number of daily cases. The Rakyat have been stuck at home for almost two months and I'm worried that the rakyat are now facing mental and physical health problems. Besides that, socioeconomic issues have also arisen due to the prolonged situation. I feel that the SOPs need to be revised holistically and based on accurate data. Simply locking the people indoors is no longer relevant .
The use of rapid test kit and personal test kit should also be introduced as soon as possible for everyone and widely be used especially for important sectors other than frontliners, especially for crucial sectors involving the processing of medicines, food and basic necessities. The Rakyat should also be widely screened and vaccinated as soon as possible.
I have also decreed for the vaccination process for Bangsa Johor to be expedited through various initiatives, including for the Johor state government to obtain vaccines through direct purchases. With this, I hope we will succeed in overcoming this pandemic. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

10 October is World Mental Health Day. The World Health Organization (WHO) held an online advocacy event yesterday to raise awareness, and I shared a few words on what we are doing in Singapore.
Ensuring access to quality mental healthcare for every citizen is a major priority for us. COVID-19 has made this especially vital, as more people face stresses, pressures and disruptions to their lives and livelihoods. We’ve set up a National CARE Hotline (1800-202-6868) and a COVID-19 Mental Wellness Taskforce, to help all those who need it.
One of the biggest hurdles dealing with mental health problems is the stigma. But this is also why the best and most reliable support system is the people around us. If we know someone having a tough time, even a simple “how are you?” is a good way to show we care, and to reassure them it’s okay to talk about their problems.
In Singapore, 1 in 7 will suffer from a mental health condition at some point in their lives. Just as we take care of each others’ physical health by wearing masks, let us also work together to understand mental health better, to care for one another during these difficult times. – LHL

Please READ this box more info. When it comes to overall fitness, stretching plays a major part and should be given equal importance as your workout.
When done properly stretching can:
1) Increase flexibility
2) Reduce post-exercise muscle soreness
3) Enhance your fitness performance
4) Reduce the risk of injury
5) Reduce muscle tension
6) Increase physical and mental relaxation
There are many different types of stretches depending on your fitness goal. I’ll be sharing 2 basic stretches, which should be done before and after every workout session; Dynamic Stretching & Static Stretching. Watch this video to learn about the different stretches, when to do them and tips to increase flexibility.
Stretching tends to be underemphasised in most training, but remember it is as important as your workouts. It doesn’t take long at all, spending just 5 minutes to stretch before and after a workout can make a huge difference to your overall fitness performance long term. All the best! xx
