Today, Director Christensen visited Medigen Vaccine Biologic’s manufacturing facility in Hsinchu to learn more about the company’s cooperation with the U.S. National Institutes of Health to produce a COVID-19 vaccine. He also visited the Taiwan National Health Research Institutes to discuss their COVID-19 rapid testing kit. The United States is proud to cooperate with Taiwan on a range of efforts to combat COVID-19 and share the internationally recognized Taiwan Model of prevention. #真朋友真進展

On March 18, AIT Director Christensen and Foreign Minister Wu announced more areas of U.S.-Taiwan cooperation on combatting COVID-19. Last Friday, Director Christensen met with Medigen, one of Taiwan's largest pharmaceutical companies, to discuss cooperation with the United States National Institute of Health to work towards a COVID-19 vaccine. The United States and Taiwan have a long history of science and technology cooperation one of the ways we use our friendship and partnership to bring real progress to people all around the world.
