🔆 什麼是成功？🔆
如果以一般社會的標準來說，我或許算不上是個成功的人。沒車沒房、沒結婚（更沒計畫生子）、為NGO而不是大企業工作、存款不多、生活不穩定，每一兩年就搬到不同的國家居住、沒名牌、書比衣服還多。
我有的，幾乎都是無法測量的東西。做服務社會和療癒世界的慈善工作的成就感、對生命的信任、對不同文化和不同事物的好奇、不斷挑戰和改善自己的決心、對理想的堅定、對他人的善意（和我接受到的善意）⋯⋯這些東西或許是眼睛看不見的，但卻是我之所以為我的原因。
如果心裡是滿的，不需要靠外在物質來假性填補；如果心裡是空的，再多的物質也滿足不了那份對人與人、人與其他生命之間深刻連結的渴望。
生命是禮物，但我們卻設計出一套對少數人有利的社會體系，標準化「成功」的定義，讓人忘記自己的光芒，以為自己無法做出獨特的貢獻，以為我們必須不斷在競爭中勝出。
生存、生活、生命——有些人因為個人選擇或體制不公無法跳脫「生存」階段，而發達國家大部分人處在「生活」階段，但有多少人在得到基本溫飽後會想往「生命」階段前進，為自己此生的使命而服務？

🔆 How Do You Define Success? 🔆
Am I a successful person? In mainstream society’s standard, probably not. I don’t own a car, I don’t have a house, I’m not married, I work for a small NGO instead of a big enterprise, I don’t have much savings in my account, I don’t have stability in life and move from one place to another every year or two, I don’t have luxury products, and...I got more books than clothes.
What I have is mostly unmeasurable - the feeling of accomplishment for doing meaningful work that serves the healing of the world; the trust in life; the curiosity about different cultures; the determination to challenge myself to grow; the belief in my cause; the kindness I give and receive...these things may be invisible, but they are the reasons why I am who I am today.
If my heart is fulfilled, I don’t need external substitutes to fill the void; if my heart is not fulfilled, then no amount of substitutes can satisfy the longing for connection.
Life is a gift, but we have designed a system that benefits a few and condemns the rest. We standardize the definition of “success,” and coerce individuals to forget their light and their unique contributions to the world. We glamorize competition and fear the consequences of “failing.”
Many people are in survival mode due to personal choices or the unjust system. Most people in developed countries aren’t living just to survive but to enjoy life as well. But how many of us are truly living to serve our mission and purpose?
