Where is our Human Rights?
Since February 1st, our true Leaders were detained by outrageous military coup. Before February 5th, we still had our freedom to express ourselves. And now, we have to cover ourselves head to toe from being beaten up, from being shot. Still, people were killed, a lot were shot in head. Starting from February 18th, the terrorists shot even at the non-protesters who were just walking on pavements. This is getting beyond horrible. After February 26th, they even used forced entry and attacked people in their own homes.
I can not stand anymore to see them killing my people and blowing their brains out.
The world must know how much we are suffering and how we no longer have our Human Rights.

前一陣子看某本小說時, 作者提到了 Horror 和 Terror的不同
她認為horror會讓人失去行動或思考能力
譬如有人看到鬼可能會嚇得全身發軟, 動彈不得
terror的程度比較輕, 就算被嚇到也還反應得過來
精華區有一篇文章說得比較詳細(字辨詞辨的第24x篇),
不過我還是覺得蠻難清楚分別的
尤其兩個字變化成形容詞時, 我就不太容易判斷如何使用
有的情況好像兩者都可用, 有些時候會覺得只能用其中一個
"感覺上" terrible 好像多形容程度較輕的事情
譬如 a terrible accident, terrible sufferings, etc.
horrible 好像比較常用於血淋淋或較驚悚的事情,
譬如講到謀殺, 屠殺之類的~
不過以horri-開頭的還有好幾個字:
horrid, horrific, horrendous
字典上只提到horrible語意比horrid強烈~
這三個還算常見, 但我自己很少用到
除此之外, 還有 frightful 和比較口語的 scary,
也有恐怖的,嚇人的意思
可以請版上高手比較一下這些形容詞嗎?^^
是不是有什麼規則可判斷?
或者可以舉例說說大概的用法?
(我尤其好奇幾個horri-開頭的字!)
