One of my favorite perks of corporate America and one of the things I miss most about my old job was the amazing package my company provided for us in continuous education.

I remember each year, I would pore through the syllabus at local universities or workshops coming to town, invigorated and excited about about the new things I would learn (even if it was on the same subjects) and how I could apply it to my work.

Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to be one of the participants of a three-day Godly Play Australia Core Training. If you've never heard of it, it is a beautiful, challenging, intense but extremely rewarding program anchored in Montessori principles (!!) that center around story telling and allowing children and adults to build their own narratives.(!!!!!!!!!!)

I am humbled by HTBB Church for their generous love and confidence in gifting this to me and I am in awe of Dignity for Children Foundation and all their hard heart work.

There is so much that I will bring back with my teacher heart and my trainer heart to build on but my biggest hope is for that little big girl that waits excitedly at the door for mama to come home every night, to see the joy of never truly ever being done learning, that her work matters, and that sometimes, amazing things happen and begin just by saying yes.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Donna was exposed to a variety of sports – tennis, swimming, badminton, soccer – in her younger days, eventually picking up squash, where she competed in local and international tournaments for her school. She quit her full-time job in 2015 and left the corporate world to become a personal trainer.

If there is one thing I could teach society, it would be to educate students about the different body types and the impact from our daily diets and physical activity as to how it influences our body shapes. By understanding the different body types, perhaps we can at least clarify that not everybody’s bodies are equal and [each is] uniquely shaped, she said.
