Running Up the Drawbridge
Total of 450 Participants
Towerrunning Mode
Game Mode: Overall Top 16 qualified to the next round (1st VS 16th, 2nd VS 15th, 3rd VS 14th, ...). 16th Placing go first, 5 seconds later 1st Placing pursuit! 16th placing have to pull the gap and make sure to have a gap of more than 5 seconds in the end to qualify to the next round.
The winner of each pair will be qualified to the Top 8 according to their winning time, and arrange according to the fastest time among the winners.
Top 8 will be race accordingly (1st VS 8th, 2nd VS 7th, 3rd VS 6th, 4th VS 5th).
Same method used here where higher number placing will be flag off first, the lower placing chase in a 5 seconds gap.
The winner of each pair will then qualify to the Top 4 according to their winning time.
Top 4 will be race accordingly (1st VS 4th, 2nd VS 3rd) to produce the Final Round for Champion Position (both winners of the pair will race) and 3rd Placing position (both losers of the pair will race). Same mode apply here where the higher number placing will be flag off first, the lower placing chase.
Tower Race begin at 1725 for all the Towerrunners.
Round 1 (All Participants) at 1725 - 1:34.4 min (3.1s lead over my training partner Justin)
Top 16 (1st VS 16th) at 1958 - 1:36.0 min (16th placing guy absent, 0.6s lead over my training partner Justin, he is overall 2nd in Top 16)
Top 8 (1st VS 8th) at 2024 - 1:30.8 min, 3s lead over 8th placing guy and 0.5s lead over my training partner Justin, he is 2nd overall in Top 8)
Semi-Final (1st VS 4th) at 2041 - 1:34.4 min (18.8s lead over 4th placing guy, and 14.4s lead over my training partner Justin, he is 2nd overall in Semi-Final)
Final (1st VS 2nd) at 2058 - 1:27.9 min (1:47.8 min lead over my training partner, 28.1s lead over 3rd Placing Winner)
Done the 5 rounds of Tower Run and when I came down, they already flagged off the 8km Run where I supposed to take part on it as well. I quickly went and take a cup of water and pour over my head and rush to the starting line and start my 8km run. Chasing from the back, a late of 1:30 min where everyone already started. Pushing really hard, dig deep to chase the lead pack. I see everyone started off pretty fast and faded after few km. I had a side stich at 1-2km and the only thing I can do is to maintain the pace. The feeling of running along the beach is so awesome, breezing by the sea wind, and luckily it wasn't blew against us. After the U-turn, I started to see the front pack. I was 5th placing at the turn and managed to overtake the 4th placing guy at the moment.
With a positive mindset, I kept digging deep, give what I could for this race as it is the last race of 2019. I knew I was in pain, but I enjoyed it and manage to pick up the pace. Started to accept it and gradually build up the confidence and visualise the image of me crossing the Finishing line first. Eventually after 1-2km, I managed to overtook everybody and lead the race. I threw in whatever I have in my tank and sprint up the hill and crossed the line First Overall after a 1:29 min late start. (6.5km showed on my GPS watch, with the time of 23:44 min nett time)
A double Champion over the tower race and 6.5km Run! A wonderful experience, truly! Thank you Experience Terengganu and to all my sponsors!
See you in 2020 in few minutes!

Great Day this morning at Penang Komtar Tower. Strong field on the first @mastowerrunning (Malaysia Towerrunning Association) sanctioned event.
We have participants from 🇭🇰🇸🇬🇰🇪 and others who took part in the Tower Run. Overall the event was good but definitely more rooms to improve it.
Glad to have a 3 days 2 nights short trip with family to Penang Island. Happy to have 4/8 committee from Malaysia Towerrunning Association to be here today taking part in the race. Well done to my training partner who did well in the race!
Congratulations on everyone who completed the race, come back stronger in the next tower run!
Keep going and see you all again!
Next Sanctioned event will be at Yayasan TM Tower Run on 10th Nov 2019.
