His Mamajee passed away on Sunday, 19th May 2019...and the very next day on Monday, 20th May - his final exam week started.
I can still remember that we were all so worried about him. Not only did he have to sit for his final exam, he also had to do long hours of fasting coz it was the month of Ramadhan. We even told him to sit out of the exam and request for a later date. But he insisted on sitting for the exam anyway. He told us not to worry. He said that he’d be fine.
Obviously we all knew that he wasn’t fine. He was struggling. Like all of us, he was not getting enough sleep and he couldn’t focus on his revision too. He was crying a lot but he still chose to sit for his final exam. That’s very brave of him.
His very first paper was English and I can still remember that look on his face when he came back from school on that day. He was really down and when we asked him how the exam was, his reply was “I don’t know.” I hugged him and assured him that no matter what the result will be, I promise that I will be happy with it. In fact, I won’t be disappointed even if he failed in any of the subjects.
But Allah is Ar-Rahmān and Ar-Raheem - The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful. We received his end of year report and we were all beyond shocked! Not only did he do excellently in his exam but he also got 2 X (Distinctions) in French and DT - Alhamdulillah. Mukhtar himself was shocked. He even said that “I don’t know how that happened” - bless him!
But I believe Allah is all knowing of all the struggles that he’s been through and Allah is just granting him with what he truly deserves. He is a good son and clearly Allah has rewarded him for his goodness.
It was really heartwarming to read all the feedback and acknowledgement from all of his teachers. I loved that the English teacher didn’t forget to acknowledge him on the publication of his first book - #MNPOE. And not only that, Mukhtar also gained not 1, not 2, but FOUR entries into the LIBER AUREUS (GOLDEN BOOK) in his first year at KES!
Well done Omar Mukhtar for your outstanding achievements, you totally deserve it. We’re all proud of you, son. And you know that Mamajee must be very proud of you too. Always have full faith in Allah and don’t forget to keep on being humble. May Allah continue to guide you and shower you with His endless blessings. And may He protect you and keep you safe from any harm.
Blessed,
Mrs Mom

Continue ReadingLittle marketplace is like a treasure trove. Foodies have a shop to eat. No matter where you go, there are plenty of great shops and no matter where you go, eaters will find them. Like ' Khun Pu Po Pump ' ✨ Freshly fried slut shop, foodie all over the compass. 😋 which is called the long queue account, as many people say, ' Poo shop '. I don't eat when I order to eat. ' Because I have to wait for long queue. Each order will be fresh and no overnight. I have to wait for it. But I can tell that it's going to be this unknown. ' Sister. Pu ' or ' Khun Ratchani Santia ' doesn't come easily as many people think.

′′ Before doing this shop, we were unemployed and experienced family problems. So we couldn't do much. But when we had free time, friends suggested that we would try to study Bangkok's career training center. We also chose to do a slut pump because of low cost and we could flirt with us. At the beginning of the time we lived, we made the neighbor taste it and gave him feedback until the taste is on sale
.
When you grow up, you know that feedback is priceless that brings success.
.
′′ We have arrived at this long queue day. Customer's feedback. It's very good to get a puff. This customer is a good teacher. If it was in the past, we might not be interested in anything. But when we did the shop, we were very attentive to everyone. The words that customers say a lot and mostly, we adjust according to the customer. The result always comes out very well. I want to leave many people to be happy when there are feedback because they expect us. If you don't want to do that, they don't want to do Let's know that I'm not an option for him to come back ′′ 🥰
.
Consistent attention and dedication is probably the best answer to why the shop has been queueing for so long over days overnight.
.
′′ The food will be delicious. Everything is fresh. We make it fresh. We make it fresh every day. The powder is fresh and all hand made. It's not used by the machine. It's better to taste it than the oil fried. We change it everyday. Freshly fried New every day. Customers come to wait to receive. They see that we fry new, no overnights. We don't have rain. We don't have rain. We don't have rain. We don't have a chance to sell today. It's the same.
.
The fragrance of a slut, Pubboro, all over the alley. Many people are waiting for friends to get a pumped slut. Luckily, there are plenty of orders left for us to taste each of them. The shop will be waiting for you to get a slut. There are 8 flavors. They are ′′ chicken stuffing Pineapple stuffing Coconut stuffing Peanut stuffing Taro stuffing Salted stuffing and 2 fresh stuffing like ′′ golden stuffing, salty egg ′′ and ′′ oily stuffing ′′ Purple ′′ 💛💜
.
When you try the first word, you have to give the goodness to the powder because the powder is very crispy and not crispy. Another impressive point is the stuffing of all the fillings. Full of bite. You will find the stuffing. Worth it. Worth it. Price 9 baht. 💥
.
With a satisfying taste that you can't get away from ′′ chicken stuffing ′′ (9 baht) uniquely, crispy powder, onion of chicken. Special recipe. 😋 and taste ′′ Foi Thong Salted egg ′′ that is not too sweet. Crunchy, crispy, but something new. 🤩

Alhamdulillah, I got another credit for my English homework! We were asked to analyse the opening sentences of a few thriller novels and explain what effect they have on the reader. This was actually a very interesting piece of work - it meant we could really go into depth of how different writing styles work.
Neither the actual task nor the credit is what I want to highlight, though. This is the comment that my English teacher wrote in response to my work. It’s one of the things that I especially value about how my teachers mark the students’ work - the effort they put into writing personalised comments for each piece of homework, regardless of what task it is or how well you do. They don't just simply put a grade and a single 'Well done' at the end. Like here, there is one paragraph’s worth of feedback for a single piece of work.
For me, it’s these individual comments that give me the drive to keep trying hard for each task. Those comments, as unimportant as they may seem, are proof that the teachers actually care about our work and want us to do the best that we can. A single grade just alienates the student…but taking the time to write in-depth about our strengths and weaknesses (plus congratulating us!) forms a closer bond between the teacher and student - something that all of us, not just at King Edward’s School, but anywhere, should value!
Motivated,
Omar Mukhtar

TRANSCRIPT
**************
Lại chính là những người nói "please tell me what time is it" =)) okay, mình không nên nói vậy.
- th: this, that, those, they, think, three
- T: water, matter, better
- R: teacher, market, flower,

***English closed captions on video to come***
I never thought that coming to Taiwan I could do one thing... LEARN ENGLISH!
Even though I've taught English for over 10 years, and spoken it for even longer, I only learned these 5 English vocabulary words after moving to Taiwan.
Some of them I didn't know because they're not used in American English. Some of them I didn't know because we use them VERY rarely in the United States. Some of them may just be used in Taiwan.
Come see if you use these English words that may make a foreigner look at you and go, "Huh???"
Do you use these words often? Comment and tell me!
Do you know any other words like these? Comment and tell me!
Do you think I said something that's not quite correct? Go away... JUST KIDDING! Comment and tell me!
All feedback and opinions are welcome~ Thanks!!!
