There’s only really one secret to how we encourage our children to talk confidently - appreciating their IDEAS. We always value our children’s ideas because they are original, fresh and priceless. They are so precious that nothing could add up to their value! We never put words into our children’s mouths because this will stop their creativity and interrupt their thinking. What we do instead is have discussions and ask questions to encourage them to speak their own mind. This will get their creative juices flowing and stimulate their thinking. We shouldn’t underestimate children’s thinking because you can’t imagine their ability, and most of the time, they will surprise you! All this talk with children may seem comedic, but if you take them more seriously, you will see that there are actually a lot of things that we can learn from our children!
.
Plus, sometimes, the things that children say may not make sense to you, but remember, there will always be an explanation behind it. Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean that it is of no value. They are just explaining something very useful but in their own way.
.
Another important thing to consider is LANGUAGE. Coming from a family with a mixed background, our children are exposed to many different languages. But, we never force or push them to speak any particular language. Instead, we let them be comfortable with their own choice, because for us, it’s not the language that matters - it’s the ideas that are INVALUABLE! We are not bothered if they don’t speak in a thick British accent or in a cool American slang like you see in the movies & we are not even ashamed if they speak broken Malay or if they speak in Kelantanese Dialect. They have all their life to master the language & polish their grammar! But, if we don’t start encouraging them to speak from an early age, then all those languages are useless! You can be born to talk, but without ideas, you can’t talk! You can be born to write, but without ideas, you can’t write! You could even be born to cook, but without ideas, you can’t cook!

A few months ago when @theomarmukhtar got a double golden book entry for his excellent performance at school, we asked him what cake he wants to celebrate his outstanding achievements. I can still remember he instantaneously replied “Rainbow Cake”! Obviously I was surprised and asked him again to make sure that my 14 year old son really wanted a rainbow cake to celebrate his achievements. And without hesitation he confirmed “Yes, I want a rainbow cake!!” So Mr Dad went ahead and bought him the rainbow cake that he claimed that he ‘wants’. He only ate a slice of the cake and the rest was joyously enjoyed by his little brother and sister - Fatimah and Ali. I guess I do not need to explain further why he chose the cake. My selfless eldest son @theomarmukhtar has always put other people first before himself. Even to celebrate his achievements he still chose a cake that Fatimah and Ali would be enjoying more than him - bless him!
Last Friday, 2nd July was Ali’s 6th birthday. As you know, Ali’s been claiming that he is Fatimah’s twin and has been sharing Fatimah’s birthday ever since. So for his 6th birthday when Mr Dad asked Ali what cake he wants for his birthday, he secretly requested Mr Dad to surprise him with any cake but make sure the colour is pink cos whenever it’s his birthday it means that it will be Fatimah’s half birthday too and vice versa. So if you asked how close Fatimah and Ali are…well I can assure you that they are just like other normal siblings - they do fight and make up. But I guess there’s no need to prove how much they love one another cos at the end of the day, actions speak louder than words. And for this, I owe my biggest thank you to my #LuckyNumber1 @theomarmukhtar for setting the best example for your little brother and sister to follow.
May The Almighty protect all of our children’s hearts and make them love one another till their last breath and protect them all from the evil eye…
Blessed,

Alhamdulillah…after more than 2 years since Mamajee Adamdidam left us, she’s finally ready to be back on tv! We were very shocked when #FatimahOmarMukhlis said “YES” to the interview by Wanita Hari Ini TV3 TV3 Malaysia 😭
Sorry to all tv & media whom we had turned down for the past 2 years. We can’t possibly force our little girl if she’s not fully ready. Fatimah was first inspired to make all those videos looking at her beloved Mamajee’s. So it is well understood why she refused to do it after he passed away. She was completely heartbroken 💔
We witnessed how much she struggled to be back to who she is now. She may not be the same person that you all knew when her Mamajee was still alive, but we’re all glad that she has come back stronger - Alhamdulillah ♥️
Thank you to all of you wonderful people who have been patiently waiting for her comeback, who have been so understanding, who have been giving her the time and space that she needed, who have been loving her unconditionally, who have been praying for her endlessly and who have been supporting her from Day 1 until today! May The Almighty bless you all and reward you abundantly for all of your kindness…
Blessed,
Mrs Mom

It was Mother’s Day here in the UK on Sunday. We made plans to go out as the kids were feeling better. But as you know, my health has its good days and bad days. And unfortunately, last Sunday was one of my bad days. I felt so bad and guilty that I wasn’t able to go out and keep my promise. So as usual, I told my husband to go ahead and bring the kids out without me. So I’d like to dedicate this year’s Mother’s Day to my husband - #TheUnsungHero who has been playing both the role of the father and filling in as the mother whenever needed. I could trade my life for all that he’s done for me...
Emotional mood on,
Mrs Mom

Many have questioned why we sent our kids to school at such an early age. Many have also been wondering what type of activities they do at school. Well, Ali joined school at the age of 2. He was the earliest amongst our three children to start school. It was different back when we had our first son, Omar Mukhtar. We proudly educated him from home until he was aged 5, when it was compulsory for him to join school.
We were planning to do the same with Fatimah too, but she had been requesting us to send her to school ever since she turned 2. She adores her Lalajee so much that listening to his school stories made her want to join even more! Because of her enthusiasm, we finally agreed to send her off to school when she turned 3. Then, that led to a new problem!
As you know, Fatimah and Ali are very close. They are like twins - they can’t be separated! I can still remember that every day without fail, Ali would sit by the window, crying his heart out. He refused to eat or do anything until Fatimah came back! And when Fatimah stepped through the door, the first thing he said to her was “Fatimah, I’m hungry. I want to eat!” As if he was left alone and we were invisible to him! With a heavy heart, we had to let him go, even though he was only 2 at the time.
So for a year, they had so much fun going to the same school. And then again, this year, they got separated once again because Fatimah has now joined primary school! As you know, Ali was struggling with the separation, but we can see that he is slowly adapting to the changes!
FYI, I’ve recently started sharing Ali’s school diary on our FB story to give you an idea of what he does at school. My intention was to show that the activities that they do in school daily can be easily recreated at home! For example, baking, role playing, arts & crafts etc. We do activities with the kids a lot at home & I believe that many other parents are doing the same thing too!
So, don’t worry if your children are not ready for school yet because there are so many things you can do together at home, unless you have other commitments and you have no choice but to send them anyway. Do things that work for your family, not just because somebody else is doing it and you think that you have to do the same thing too! At the end of the day, we want to raise happy and healthy kids, not shaping them to be a genius robot! Believe me, if i had a choice, I would be more than happy to keep Ali at home for as long as I could, but just because he is happier to go to school like his brother and sister, I won’t be selfish and keep him away!
“Even though we send our kids to school, we always believe that education should start at home and we as parents must take full responsibility to educate our children!”

This is Fatimah and Ali’s normal routine after their bath time in the evening. Ali will sit down and ask Fatimah to brush his hair. Ali always wants to be pampered and loves all the attention from Fatimah. And Fatimah will always brush Ali’s hair first, then only will she brush her own hair. No matter what, she always puts her lil’ brother as her first priority!
Dear Ali,
Always remember how much love your elder sister, Fatimah has showered upon you. From the day you were born, she has always cared for you even though she was only 1 and a half years old at the time.
Dear Fatimah,
Thank you for being such a mature and responsible big sister to your brother, Ali. Your love for him is priceless. You’re truly a #PrincesswithaBigHeart ?
Dear God,
Please protect the hearts of our children and make them love one another till their last breath. And may the love that they have for one another unite them again in the highest place of Your Heaven.
Blessed,
Mrs Mom
