Second production version of Su-57 Felon
The Russian Ministry of Defense showed pictures of the second production version of the Su-57 at the assembly line of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Factory (part of the Sukhoi Aircraft Company within the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC).
The second Felon follows the first production version (construction number 51001) which crashed due to (tail) control problems in Khabarovsk Territory (Russia) during a test flight on 24 December 2019 (*).
The second Su-57 is part of a Russian MoD procurement plan containing 76 of these 5th gen fighter jets. All these aircraft must be delivered by 2028.
Compared to previous versions, the second aircraft clearly has a slightly less duckbill-shaped radome. Also, it is of note that the stabilizers are already painted while the wings and fuselage show Radar Absorbing Material (RAM) paint. Most probably the whole aircraft will get the common digital scheme, applied over the RAM.
