African American culture’s traditional hairstyle
First of all, I would like to reach out and apologise to all of those who have been offended by my lack of cultural sensitivity. I am fully responsible for the act that I have commit.
I would like to acknowledge the beauty of African American culture’s traditional hairstyle which I have taken into my own self-expression today. I have now realised what is wrong, is when the cultural exchange makes no reference, credit or acknowledgement to the culture it is borrowing from.
As I person, I seek to find inspirations from all around the world. I learn about cultures by meeting people from different families, all races, ethnicities and genders, their stories have connected me to all the people who are next to us. We share between cultures all the time, which helps us grow as people.
I have now understood that it’s not about one individual person giving me a pass to do it but to acknowledge the history and endurance of the originally styles I choose to do.
Allow me to share my appreciation for one another’s cultures with all my respect.
