A whistle was once seen as hope. It was used as a symbol of democracy. You can't deny that it was a historic movement when there were millions of whistles on the streets nationwide. There was a time when people divided into small groups and the biggest group dominated the scene, which paved the way for the military regime. I was in one of those small groups and it felt right at the time. After a few years, I realised I was wrong... I made a mistake. I was deeply sorry. I decided to choose democracy once again because I couldn't side with any form of dictatorship. It was hard to admit that I was wrong but that's how democracy works! You can be wrong but you get a chance to criticise freely, you can have a chance to express your views. Your voice matters. On the spectrum of democracy, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, and that's fine. That's the beauty of having democracy. But if you choose to be on the spectrum of dictatorship, you have already lost without fighting. The choice is yours.

Sorry about the lack of updates for the past few days! We have just been so busy settling into our new routine and being absolutely smitten by our little LaLa. I see so much of Isaac in her and yet at the same time, I'm seeing a lot of myself. For those who don't know, I had trouble bonding with Isaac first time round and it took months before I started to appreciate motherhood. This time round, since I am calm and no longer fruit so hard to juggle everything- I can say I have been absolutely adoring her from the second she was born. I just don't want to make the same mistake with her as I did with Isaac especially when the first year passes so quick. Isaac has been doing wonderful and I could not be more proud. He kisses and hugs her often despite knowing the attention is divided. It's right what they say after all. We heard there were really cute looking Birthday Cake Oreos in America, and when we looked them up we fell in love right away ♥
Since it's close to Moso-Dad's birthday, and we wanted to celebrate the giant Oreo cake video from 2015 passing one billion views ( https://youtu.be/l7TT6DqyQKg ), we decided to make a huge Birthday Cake Oreo cake weighing roughly 1.9 kg!
The hand mixer did some solid work, just like when we made the giant Oreo cake.
*Recipe*
1. Grease the mold with vegetable oil.
2. Sift together 520g of cake flour and 240g of almond flour.
3. Gently mix 760g of pure butter that has returned to room temperature.
4. Add 420g of powdered sugar divided into two batches and mix well.
5. Whip 10 whole eggs and 2 egg yolks in a bowl (the egg whites will be used for making cream).
6. Add 4 to 5 and mix well. It will gradually get harder to mix and easier to separate so make sure 5 is at room temperature. You could also warm it up in hot water in advance.
7. Divide 2 into two batches and add to 6. Mix gently.
8. Add 45g of lemon juice and a touch of vanilla oil to 7. Mix well.
9. Pour the batter from 8 into the prepared mold in 1.
10. Let it rest. Softly depress the center.
11. Cook it for 35 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
12. Check if it's done by inserting a bamboo skewer.
13. Once they're cooled down (let them sit for at least 10 minutes), slice them into two pieces of equal thickness.
14. Remove from the mold.
15. Cut up 100g of white chocolate into small pieces.
16. Add 60g of sugar and 30g of cake flour in a large, heat-resistant baking dish and mix well.
17. Take 240g of milk and pour a little of it into 16.
18. Mix two egg whites into 17.
19. Add the leftover milk from 17 to 18 and mix well.
20. Put it in a 600w microwave for one minute and thirty seconds, then again for one minute and thirty seconds, and then once more for one minute. Mix in between each time.
21. Add 15 and mix well.
22. Add sprinkles and eye-catching Froot Loops into 21. Mix well.
23. Insert 22 into 14.
24. Finished! We regret how we didn't let the butter return to room temperature since that made a lot of trouble for the hand mixer. Time to eat!

日本未発売のキュートなルックスをジャイアントに再現。

今回もジャイアントオレオケーキ同様、ハンドミキサーが死にそうに頑張ってくれてます。
*レシピ*
1.型に植物油を塗っておく。
2.薄力粉 520gとアーモンドプードル 240gを合わせてふるっておく。
3.室温に戻した 無塩バター 760gを柔らかく混ぜる。
4.粉砂糖 420gを2回に分けて加え、混ぜる。
5.全卵 10個と卵黄 2個分を溶きほぐす。(卵白 2個分はクリームに使います。)
6.4に5を加え混ぜる。徐々に混ざりにくく、分離しやすくなるので5はしっかり室温に戻しておく。または少し湯煎して温めておくとよい。
7.6に2を2回に分けて加え、サックリと混ぜる。
8.7にレモン汁 45gとバニラオイル 少々を加え混ぜる。
9.1の型に8を入れる。
10.落として空気を抜く。真ん中を軽くへこませる。
11.180度に予熱したオーブンで35分焼く。
12.焼き上がりを竹串を刺して確認する。
13.粗熱が取れたら(最低でも10分そのまま置く)、厚みをカットして整える。
14.型からはずす。
15.ホワイトチョコレート 100gを小さく折っておく。
16.大きめの耐熱容器に砂糖 60gと薄力粉 30gを混ぜる。
17.16に牛乳 240gの内少量を加え混ぜる。
18.17に卵白 2個分を加え混ぜる。
19.18に17の残りの牛乳を加え混ぜる。
20.600wの電子レンジに1分30秒、1分30秒、1分と3回かけ、その都度混ぜる。
21.15を加え混ぜる。
22.21にスプリンクルに見立てた“FROOT LOOPS”を混ぜる。
23.14に22を挟む。
24.できた。バターが室温に戻ってなくて、ハンドミキサーに負担を強いてしまったこと反省。そして食べる。

We made watermelon macarons. We tried adding green food dye powder to the macaron and watermelon-flavored shaved-ice syrup to the buttercream filling. And this time, we finally used the "food pen"!
You love macarons. But they're hard to make. You always fail. So here is a simple recipe for making something similar to a macaron. Perfect for those of us who fail at making real macarons but want to eat as many macarons as they want! This is a true Moso-style recipe to make all of your dreams come true. It's a bit different than the real thing, but please try making it!
*Recipe*
Baking the macarons
1. Draw macaron-sized circles on the oven paper. For this recipe, about 35mm.
2. Put 1 egg white and 70g of granulated sugar in a metal bowl immersed in a hot water bath.
3. Mix with a hand mixer until fluffy.
4. Remove the bowl from the hot water bath.
5. Shake 32g of almond powder and 3g of green food dye powder (if adjusting color to your liking, just make sure the amount of dye and almond powder adds up to 35g) into the bowl through a sieve.
6. Thoroughly mix everything together.
7. Put the ingredients from '6' into a piping bag with a 1cm round tip.
8. Squeeze the mix from '7' into the guide circles from '1'.
9. Lower the temperature of the oven that was preheating at 200 degrees to 130 degrees. Place '8' in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Do not open the oven while baking.
10. After the macarons have finished baking, leave them inside the oven for another 10 minutes.
11. Once cooled, gently peel the macarons off the oven sheet.
Making the buttercream filling (an easy-to-make amount)
12. Place 2 egg yolks in a bowl and whip with a hand mixer until whitish in color.
13. Place 65g of granulated sugar and 25g of water in a heat-resistant container.
14. Put it in the microwave for 40 seconds at 600W. Remove and mix.
15. Place it back in the microwave for 1 minute and 50 seconds.
16. Slowly add '12' a bit at a time to '15' while mixing.
17. Mix until cooled to about body temperature.
18. Add 150g (divided into 3 parts) of creamed unsalted butter to '17' and mix until glossy with each addition.
19. Take 100g from '18' (refrigerate the rest).
20. Add 30mL of watermelon-flavored shaved-ice syrup to '19' and mix.
21. Use a food pen to draw a pattern on half of the macarons from '11'.
22. Sandwich the cream from '20' between the macarons.
23. If you put the macarons in an airtight container and leave them in the fridge overnight, the macaron and cream meld together and taste delicious.
24. Eat the macarons while thinking to yourself, "These look just like a cute cartoon drawing of a watermelon!"

Cotton candy is an essential for summer festivals! As such, we made baked meringue that looks like cotton candy. In Japan, cotton candy is frequently wrapped around a disposable chop stick, but in Santa Monica, it was wrapped around a cone-shaped paper stick. Where you live, what is cotton candy wrapped around?
*Recipe* (About 30 sticks)
1. Place 2 egg whites (64g) in a bowl and double-boil with hot water (about 50 degrees Celsius) while whisking. If you have cream of tartar (for each egg white of about 35g, 3 large helpings of the attached spoon), mix it in. (As a substitute for cream of tartar, you can use 1 teaspoon of lemon juice for each egg white)
2. Add sugar (128g) of twice the amount of the egg whites in 2 separate helpings and whisk further. Create a solid meringue.
3. Mix in food dye of your desired color to create colored meringues. This time, I divided the meringue into 3 parts and dyed each using 1 drop of red and 2 drops of yellow and blue liquid food dye.
4. Place 3 in a piping bag. Create a hole of about 1cm.
5. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place pieces of stick-shaped snacks broken into lengths of about 3.5cm.
6. Pipe 4 onto 5.
7. Bake for 90 minutes in an oven pre-heated to 100 degrees Celsius.
8. After 90 minutes of baking, let it sit until the oven cools down.
9. Worrying about whether it looks like cotton candy, ask your family members, "Hey, what does it look like? Does it look like cotton candy?" While annoying your family members, eat it before it gets damp.

1.ボウルに入れた2個分の卵白(64g)を 熱めのお湯(50度くらい)で湯煎しながら泡立てる。あれば、クリームターター(卵白1個およそ35gに対し付属スプーン山盛り3杯)を入れる。(クリームターターの代用として、卵白1個に対して、レモン汁 小さじ1強を加えてもよい)
2.卵白の倍量の粉砂糖(128g)を2回に分けて加え、さらに泡立てる。しっかりとしたメレンゲを作る。
3.お好みの色の食用色素を混ぜ、色メレンゲを作る。今回は、メレンゲを3等分し、液体食用色素 赤 1滴、黄と青 2滴でそれぞれ着色しました。
4.3を絞り袋に入れる。1センチ弱の口を開ける。
5.オーブンシートを敷いた天板に3.5センチくらいに折った スティック状のお菓子を並べる。
6.4を5に絞り出す。
7.100度に予熱したオーブンで90分焼く。
8.焼きあがったら、オーブンの庫内が冷めるまで、そのままにしておく。
9.綿菓子に見えるかなぁーと不安になりながら「ねー何に見える?綿菓子に見える?」と家族みんなに聞きまくり、迷惑がられながら、湿気らないうちにいただく。
