This Deepavali, I would like to highlight two hardworking members of the KBS family.

First, is Dr Waitchalla, Iron Lady & Secretary General of KBS. Dr has a an amazing balance of being tough, critical and compassionate. Entering the Ministry which is conventionally male dominated and predominantly Malay may be daunting for someone who isn’t part of that community. She took the challenge head on and serves with the best interest of the Ministry at heart. I am forever grateful.

Second is @kamles , a Press Secretary & macha from another mother. Anyone who thinks that I hire yes men only needs to see how Kamles & I discuss ideas & they’ll know how untrue that is. A true hustler in making things happen (especially when you have a boss that sometimes has unreasonably high expectations 😜). Some would say I nag him more than his own mother does. Thank you for going above & beyond.

It is individuals like these that make #TeamKBS amazing. Many studies have shown diversity in any organisations leads to better ideas & decision-making. This is why I value diversity & not afraid to be around those that are not the same as me. The journey may be tough but the benefits are boundless.
