My husband calls me UNITED NATIONS - he jokes about it and teases me - so, while you can count his closest pals with just one hand, I have so many close friends of different groups and I really work hard in sustaining those relationships.

Why? Because I believe everyone comes to your life for a reason. Even the ones who may have hurt you or no longer present in your life.

This would be our third Malam Amal with @kindnessmalaysia, and I’ve gotten to know some of the single moms better during the course so it was good to see them again during our annual iftar with the rest of my power #Celepets while making new friends a long the way.

I want to mention a special someone in this post.

Thank you @zieyanlim for enthusiastically saying YES when I approached you amidst our preloved bazaar chaos, to join #TheCelepets. I know you were supposed to check with the board before agreeing to do pro bono/ charity work and I am humbled you are onboard to help our pilot project. But not just that. You were my confidante and advisor during the process and I thank my lucky stars our paths met! I say this over and over to you and I want you to know how much I ❤️ you. We found each other in Tokyo, we will definitely find each other during the good and bad. InshaAllah. To many beach holidays and play dates in the future... Ameen!

Thank you @styleannexe for styling me up so elegantly. I love how comfortable my kurung was as I ran from one venue to another handling logistics. The shawl from @maxfashionasia was perfect to keep my om gere hair neat, as I had no time to get it done before “showtime”.

I didn’t take any pictures during the night as I was super busy. Susah juga nak jadi event organiser ni ... and that’s why clients SHOULD hire good event management teams! They are there for a reason!LOL.

We ran our own show. @zieyanlim from @iolicomms and @mrstailista handled the PR kit and media.
Thank you Yan and team for making our simple brief into a beautiful press release that really captured the essence of our #CLPTsPowerToEmpower project.
Ayie was also responsible in roping in our main sponsor @feebay.co & @uem_sunrise onboard and didn’t bat an eyelid when we asked him to emcee the night too.

@kajaipriya was our FM extraordinaire. She lifted the weight of my shoulders when I feeling a bit overwhelmed, surrounded in the afternoon with all the generous donations flooding backstage- waiting to be packed and organised. It was around the same time I received some unkind news and it was as if she knew I needed half an hour to regain my composure. Thank you Kajai for being in tune with my emotions and taking the reins while I went off to a corner to let it all go. And my darling MANager @joelebosi helped me with logistics and unpacking and making sure cash donations were sealed nicely inside our Raya packets. I love you.

Each Celepet
played a role; from the donation and sponsorship drive,logistics; writing, calling , begging 🥺 ... hahahaha ... to creating the event rundown, checklists and eventually executing it.

Producers Sazzy & Aishah nailed the Q&A session and Hani aced the panel discussion as moderator.

Our sponsors quadrupled this year but I have to personally thank those who got in touch with me personally like Bel from @bybellina, who painted such happy faces and @whatamesskids who made messy play oh-so-joyful. @hankidz_leadership too made Blackbox such a euphoric edutainment for all our 81 children. We are so blessed you volunteered your time for this Malam Amal and can’t thank you enough.

I stole this picture from Hani as it showcased our children. We will receive the official photographs and will share it soon but this first picture basically summed up my feeling for the night. I had the biggest smile even when things got a bit messy. ❤️

On Monday 13th May we had our #MalamAmalCLPTS2019 and launched #CLPTSpowertoempower mentorship program for single mothers living in poverty to help empower these wonderful but less fortunate women to better their lives.

My amazing gal of Celepets girlfriends Daphne, Aishah, Dynas, Serena, Yasmin Hani, Atilia and I formed this little circle of ours 10 years ago and ever since then we’ve worked together fighting for causes we love ; starting with refugee children, feeding the homeless, helping the less fortunate, but the one we’ve been most passionate about was to help the single mothers living in poverty association.

So once again, we partnered up with Feebay.co and Kindness Malaysia to do something special for this community.

Thank you to Mompreneur Asia for coming in as our mentorship partner and coming up with a module for this program. Ioli Communications Sdn Bhd and Ayie Ali for being our PR and Media arm.

I’m so proud to be a part of this passionate group and just seeing our little group work so hard at making this happen just blows my mind.

The donations that came pouring in, Masya Allah! I can’t thank all our sponsors and donators enough for their generosity... from friends and family, to big corporate companies like Happy Fresh, Milo Malaysia, Mothercare Malaysia, Aliff Cooking Oil and more.

We also had support for Hankidz Leadership Academy, Whatamess and ByBellina to entertain the children with lots of fun activities.

Alhamdulillah the event was a success. Now to focus our energy in making the #CLPTSpowertoempower program 💜💜💜💜💜
