今天下午騎1980 Honda CB750F去倉庫,
有一段路況不錯,綠燈亮就小衝一波,
忽然從後視鏡發現一部偉士緊跟在後,引擎聲叮叮叮的響,我就知道事情不單純,
改裝偉士即使在寬闊道路也有機會扳倒重機,重機在市區只有吃癟的份,
對於它很快追上來,我明確的給騎士比了個讚,
騎士禮貌的回我一聲「嗶」後,便叮叮叮的與我分道揚鑣了,
我完全不知道怎麼把偉士改得這麼會跑,很佩服,
我也知道現在改車很流行,但是我應該還是不會走上改車這條路。

1955年Yamaha 以YA1進入機車製造業,日本四大廠到齊,
在日本政府刻意扶植下,其餘大、小廠逐步衰微,其中有間名廠叫《丸正》Marusho ,旗下有個品牌叫《萊立克》Lilac ,1949年成立,
Lilac 一心一意要打倒本田,但丸正撐到1967年不支,Lilac 也就落幕,
史書上認定,1970年,日本政府達成目標,日本僅存四大廠。
Lilac 老員工與老顧客每年有一次聚會,共同話題就是講本田壞話,說本田車有多爛,
最愛取笑本田宗一朗矮小,虛擬故事,說本田宗一郎與老婆外宿旅館吵架,老婆拎著本田衣領,把人舉到窗外,威脅要放手,每次講到這裡,所有人笑成一團。
其實是個悲傷的場合,所有人都老了,離不開健康話題,某某人再也無法來了,
聚會每年人數遞減中,不確定現在還有沒有。

1968年Honda CB750Four發表 ,本田試乘後感到滿意,但身材矮小的本田感嘆說:真是部好車,可惜太大台了!
技術部門聽進去了,1972年,CB350Four 世界最小排氣量的橫四誕生,這就是為什麼CB350有雙缸與四缸兩種的原因。
這是了不起的工程成就,但是市場反應冷淡,原因是小排量原本就不是北美市場主流,
再者同年Kawasaki Z1 發表,囊括了所有車迷的目光。

本田內部認為CB350Four 失敗的原因還有一個:老氣!
於是1974年後繼款CB400Four Super Sport 誕生,史上初四合一波浪管,氛圍氣一新,人氣集!
1975年日本政府也針對暴走族實施新規,400cc以上需考大型車駕照,藉以管制使用者的素質與數量,
所以初期型為408cc,1976年二代目CB400Four II 就降為398cc。
這就是騎初代車比較臭屁的原因。
因為日本政府相關管制,也就造成後繼車馬力值與車速表現比較遜色的原因。

1974年9月 Honda GL1000 登場,針對北美市場開放發車種,目標是擊敗川崎 Z1,GL 人氣爆發,
1976年GL訂單殺到,本田管理階層考量利益率,大砍其它生產線,1977年CB400Four 僅少量生產,造成消費者錯愕,1978年400Four 曲終,
當時外界不理解發生什麼事,只覺得CB400Four 叫好叫座,怎麼突然如燦星墜落。
1977年,400cc這級別由雙缸的 CB400T 接棒。

1973年世界最大機車製造商英國 BSA 撐不住垮台。
1974年, Suzuki RE5 上市,這個時間點上市,RE5需要撂倒的對手除了CB750,Z1,還有GL1000,
SUZUKI商業判斷嚴重錯誤,企圖藉由德國黑科技轉子引擎封王夢碎,遭逢石油危機,狠狠跌了一跤。
1976年尾,Suzuki 先後發表了GS400 與 GS750 ,能否東山再起,Suzuki 賭上了自己社運的未來。

當這些事鬧哄哄的進行中,本田受到 Benelli 的狙擊,1972年 Benelli 750Sei 發表,成為史上首部橫六,於1974年發售,
本田因GL1000 開發,延遲六缸計畫,於1978年推出六缸CBX1000 迎戰,但目標並非 Benelli 750Sei ,而是川崎,
同年秋天,川崎六缸 Z1300 問世,史上兩大巨獸對決,吸引全球車迷目光,Benelli 750Sei 相形失色。

1979年,川崎 Z400FX漂亮出擊,這款華麗的《中型Z》,是繼本田CB400Four 落幕兩年後,推出的高性能橫四,
Z400FX 確立了川崎《武骨、硬派、男子漢》的調性,收到廣大迴響。
1980年 Yamaha 橫四XJ400 登場,號稱最高馬力 45ps,比Z400FX 輕了12公斤。
1981年Suzuki 橫四GSX400F參戰,大亂鬥於焉成形。
同年,本田推出CBX400F,是繼CB400Four 終止數年之後,重返中型400cc高性能四缸車行列 ,高科技滿載,多數史上初,極受矚目。

400cc這級別真的是四衝橫四天下嗎?
Yamaha 不這麼認為,1980年推出超高性能2T車種 RZ250,震撼車壇,成為時代的反叛者。
1981年再推出 RZ350 ,正式進軍400cc級別,形成史上極著名的超激戰場面,自此揭開仿賽序幕。
本文從Yamaha開始,也在Yamaha結束,這些故事始終圍繞著一台車 ,一台因為本田宗一郎身材矮小而誕生的400cc中型超跑始祖 Honda CB400Four 。

1980年,我讀美工科二年級,16歲,還沒有駕照,
多虧慷慨的土豆學長,讓我玩他的 Honda TL125 與 Honda CB400T,
兩台都沒牌,但CB400T 得要七萬元,TL125 也要三萬五,
當時我未成年,沒收入,家境小康,這是我不敢想的事。
當時土豆送了一張蒙泰莎COTA 349 照片給我做紀念,
這車一台要十七、八萬,數字已經超出我的概念,連土豆也買不起,
事隔三十幾年,照片裡的車竟在2014年被我無意間買到,照片直到現在我還留著。
土豆的CB400T在1982年被警察沒入,TL125 也不敢騎了,放在另一位學長《阿碰》家裡,年代久遠,已不知去向,
初登場的阿碰,1979年買了一台賽車版的 Honda CB750 ,是在香港賽道上退役的車,
這車當年花了阿碰五十萬,
無牌,光頭胎,還曾害阿碰在平交道滑倒出糗。
車子也老早就不在了,到底是什麼樣的CB750 啊?
