(scroll down for English & 下面有中文)

Although I am a #Hongkonger, Chinese netizens often call me Vietnamese monkey. I am sorry that my friends in #Vietnam feel uncomfortable when I used the term to mock myself. So I delete it and apologize for your frustration.
But what is more worrying is that #China’s netizens more and more often use these racist terms to describe people in #Vietnam, #Japan, #Taiwan, #Uyghurs, #Thailand in recent #nnevvy incident, and even African workers in #Guangzhou and #Beijing.
That is a kind of extreme nationalist bullying, warranted by an authoritarian #China and reaching out every corner of the world. With its swelling economic clout, #Chinese pay no respect to other people’s liberties and dignity.
In defence of our freedoms and human dignity, I invite people in all Asian and African countries to fight against #China’s authoritarian expansion. Our life should not be trampled on by extreme nationalists from #China.

The Vietnamese people — having endured decades of racism, imperialism and geopolitical oppression from China — have likewise long been standing up for Hong Kong, even as the Vietnamese government is reluctant to say anything pro-democracy.

Read this moving account by one of our recovered COVID-19 patients. Mrs Zhang was evacuated from Wuhan on the first Scoot flight. She was asymptomatic on the flight, but was found to have a fever upon arrival in Singapore. Her illness took a turn for the worse, and she had to be admitted into ICU, but she managed to pull through, thanks to the care of the doctors and nurses at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases. She shared her recovery experience with the Ministry of Health, Singapore.
My deepest respect to all the healthcare workers, who are working so hard to care for patients. My thanks also to their families and loved ones for their sacrifices and understanding. 19 patients have recovered and been discharged so far, including Mrs Zhang. Wishing a smooth recovery to all remaining warded patients. – LHL

The other day we white guys who speak perfect Chinese went out to NYC’s Chinatown to the nail salon. They were “gossiping” about us (in a loving way!), not realizing we spoke Mandarin, and then we totally shocked them by switching to Chinese! We ended up having a really deep and interesting conversation with them in Mandarin and the rare Chinese dialect of Fuzhounese.
So to find out what they are REALLY saying about you at Asian nail salons…just watch the video! It was a funny prank / social experiment but also a really meaningful experience. Plus of course it’s interesting if you’re interested in language learning!

I have been working here for three years.
I have worked for three years in XXXX.
You have grown since last time i saw you.

1.(a) I have worked for xxx for 2 years.
1.(b)I worked for xxx for 2 years.
1.(c)I had worked for xxx for 2 years until i left.
The town has changed a lot.
The town is changing.
(c)
The town has been changing for two years.

https://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/simplepast.html
The Simple Past can be used with a duration which starts and stops in the past. A duration is a longer action often indicated by expressions such as: for two years, for five minutes, all day, all year, etc.
Examples:
I lived in Brazil for two years.
Shauna studied Japanese for five years.
They sat at the beach all day.
They did not stay at the party the entir
