What better place to watch the city sparkle than on top of one of the most historic buildings on the island?
Currently the National Gallery, it was once the Supreme Court and City Hall - where Lord Mountbatten accepted the surrender of the Japanese in 1945 and Lee Kwan Yew and his cabinet took the Oath of Allegiance in 1959. It was also where Mr Lee had his first office as Prime Minister.
The foundation stone was laid for the Supreme Court in 1935 and buried underneath it, a time capsule to be opened in the year 3000.
Now, it's home to the gallery as well as restaurants and bars, including Smoke & Mirrors. From now till the end of the year, you can watch the night sky light up, while sipping on specially-curated cocktails featuring the Marques de Casa Conche Chardonnay and Merlot for the Marques Perfect Match.
The one in my hand here is the Sirena de Chile, the Marques Merlot paired with single-malt whiskey, Cherry liquor and aqua faba (a fabulous egg-alternative that is the water in a can of chickpeas!).
The Marques Perfect Match is going on at twelve restaurants across the island including Whitegrass and Salt Grill & Sky Bar.

Finally we can share the photo for the The Macallan campaign produced with GQ Taiwan.
This feel like the final stone of this incredible work that brought so many people together.
I already mention what were the energy and emotional costs to put together this photo/video/aerial project.
What still leave speechless is the variety of places I've been able to see in this too short month and half. This massive mountain chain located few kilometers from a tropical coastline generate a incredible variety of habitats and landscapes, dived just from few hours drive, which we covered with our incredible caravan.
It is something really peculiar of this place and at the same time precious. Something that I never been able to see anywhere else in the world ( for that part that I ménage to see ), and that make this place unique.
In the mind of a gamer from the 90s, which I am, I can't help to compare Taiwan to one of this video games "island worlds", where u have so many different levels and stages all condensate on this relatively small place. Where the player can't leave, but where all the action is.
This are just some of the shot we took along the way. Each of them showing one of the different location we stop by. Each of them have a different photographic challenge that made it unique. A challenge that sometime we were prepared and planned for other times where a total improvised response to the elements. On my Instagram @lorenzopierucci I will share a wider set of photos for each location and some videos.
At the end of all this road the Airstream will finally stop for a last time in Taichung, this coming 21th April. I will be there.
Probably drinking whiskey.
