This year, I went all out for Christmas. I had my tree up in November. I made sure my house was nicely decorated and magical. I was ready for all the festivities and activities that comes with this holiday. Then everything was “ruined”. I love that Christmas is such a heartwarming family and so I understand why it can also be so painful for those who are hurting and mourning. The holiday promotes perfect family happiness and this is why it’s painful for broken families or those suffering with loss. It doesn’t matter how big your tree is or how bright your lights shine. In the end, you realise it’s the littlest things that make the big things. My favourite part of yesterday was laying in bed with Isaac and Ayla reading a book. Something we frequently do at night. My day started horribly and yet ended so peaceful and joyful. Yes, the stories can be tedious for me since I’ve read them hundreds of times but never so I take this night for granted. Merry Christmas everyone. If this has been a tough one for you, may the tears you cried in 2019 water your seeds for 2020. Being hopeful is great and it’s good to have dreams and goals. None of that will mean much to you without gratitude so practice gratitude every single day and give out as much love as you can.
