So the boys want to do a drag party this December.
To prepare for the festivities, we went drag-supplies shopping yesterday. Here we were at the H&M, trying out women's clothes, and nobody even batted an eyelid. Then we went to Dorothy Perkins VN in Gurney Plaza and the sales girls even helped to suggest some suitable frocks. And afterwards, at Charles and Keith, the staff were nothing but helpful.
What really amazed me was that, not even one the staff, or the customers made an issue about us, a bunch of men, trying on dresses and strutting around in the shop in high heels. As a matter in fact, all the employees in all these outlets made us feel really welcome.
Have I blinked and suddenly the world became a little more accepting?
It's things like these that make me really proud to be from Penang.
