I arrived to Singapore from Batam and checked into the Raffles Hotel, a landmark in the city that I dreamed about staying in. This place sure was elegant and had that colonial vibe. Then I went to Alberts Food Court and ate a bunch of delicious things. Later I went down to the Merlion Park to eat the coconut ice cream and await the sunset to see the magnificent Singapore skyline.

This is what I recommend doing when travelling Kaohsiung!
In this episode of our Kaohsiung Adventure Vlog we explored the coastal side of Kaohsiung.
We started the morning by exploring a local Taiwanese street food market
and got some great Taiwan food breakfast.
The little breakfast street food stall can be found on the Linhai 2nd Road at the Gushan District. Here you can order local Taiwanese breakfast dishes such as omelets as well as amazing coffee with steamed milk.
After having our street food breakfast we travelled to the pier of Kaohsiung and got a ferry over to Qijin District.
This area of Kaohsiung is right beside the sea and so gives a much more coastal town vibe.
In the Qijin District there are a lot of must visit locations including:
- Kaohsiung Lighthouse
- Cihou Fort
- Cijin Tunnel
- Dr. James Laidlaw Maxwell Monument
We hiked Mount Cihou and checked out the beautiful Taiwan nature spots. This mountain hike provides amazing views of the Kaohsiung City.
This nature hike also has great historical landmarks of Kaohsiung and it is the perfect Taiwan travel location for those looking for a walking tour with beautiful views and interesting Taiwanese history.
We ended the day by walking around the nature park and soaking in the nature/coastal side of Kaohsiung.
