在愛裡陷得太深而失去自我，是否還能稱作是愛？
歌曲描述的是一種愛得太深而迷失自我的感情狀態，想忘卻也無法忘卻的痛苦。當你變得不像自己，就像變色龍失去了本身的色彩。
MV中忽隱忽現的鄧紫棋，即導演8ID魏奕旻將歌詞中「為愛失去自己變得透明」的比喻視覺化，透過CG技術將她「變得透明」，具體呈現在一段感情關係的相處中，漸漸失去自我的揪心過程。導演更在畫面中精心暗藏了超現實主義畫家馬格利特《戀人們》這幅名畫作品，蒙著臉的兩人乍看之下雖在接吻，但事實上嘴唇無法碰觸到對方，不過就是個形式上的愛罷了。
〈透明〉由鄧紫棋本人親自擔綱製作人，她更一手包辦詞曲、編曲、和音與鋼琴部分，強而有力的鼓點貫穿全曲，將歌曲情緒隨主副歌層次逐漸拉抬，是融合說唱與都會節奏藍調音樂元素的新型態抒情歌。歌詞尾段中的兩兩字詞語音相似卻又語意矛盾，就像心碎期間的掙扎以及痛苦時無法成句的呢喃，是繼〈泡沫〉之後鄧紫棋的經典失戀情歌！
