“When you set your eyes on wealth, it is [suddenly] gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies to the heavens.” (PROVERBS 23:5 AMP)
I noticed that in times when I worry about finances and my focus in life shifts to earning more money, the income that I pursue becomes even more unattainable.
However in times when I am sincerely seeking the Lord in His word and listening to Jesus-centered sermons often, unexpected income suddenly pours in. Amazing isn’t it?
I believe that this phenomenon is linked to what Jesus said about seeking first God’s kingdom and His righteousness and all these (material) things will also be added to you.
When you as a believer focus on gaining wealth, it will fly away like an elusive eagle. It can be tempting to focus on this pursuit, especially in times like these of financial instability.
As a believer, your flesh has no power to sustainably increase and keep wealth. You can only receive it through faith. Hearing about Jesus refocuses your gaze unto Him and ushers you into the state of undefiled faith.
When you make hearing, reading and receiving God’s word a priority, provision is a side-benefit that will definitely be yours.
What about those unbelievers who prosper? How come they can do so?
“He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little [thing] is dishonest and unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the [case of] unrighteous mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions), who will entrust to you the true riches?” (Luke 16:10-11 AMPC)
Material wealth is not a measure of a person’s true wealthiness. In God’s eyes, money is considered a “very little thing”—one of the least of His blessings.
True riches are the eternal rewards from doing good works for Jesus’ sake. One example would be authority over cities during Jesus’ Millennial reign on earth in the future.
Revelations about Jesus are also true riches because Jesus is Abba God’s most treasured person. Fresh revelations about Jesus cannot be bought in any store on earth—they are given by the Holy Spirit when one receives God’s word.
God is against letting money that you’re not prepared to handle destroy you. Some people if you give them a million dollars now, they will never pray or prioritize God’s word until their next setback.
God doesn’t discipline unbelievers because they are not His children. He only disciplines His children which are the born-again believers.
Abba God wants you to prosper in all things—not just in money. He also wants you to be healthy and for your soul to prosper.
Trust His timing. Your character grows when He trains and teaches you through the Scriptures, and your capacity to steward wealth in a way that befits a royal priest to God also grows.
Some unbelievers may prosper because they spend all their efforts scheming and laboriously working to hoard wealth. But what is the end result? Other parts of their life is in shambles and that wealth can be lost very quickly.
Upon death, they descend to Hell to burn in unending torment, and their wealth can be quickly squandered by their descendants who did nothing to earn it.
Take this pandemic situation for example. Now Singapore is about to begin a lockdown situation. Imagine that even the casino is being shutdown. Places with high operational costs like the theme parks are also closed.
What other businesses owned by unbelievers are affected? I’m sure there are many. This is a sobering reality that chasing wealth can be a futile attempt—it can fly away like an elusive eagle.
Dear brother or sister in Christ, in Jesus’ name, I pray that God’s goodness and mercy will hunt you down all the days of your life—that you will not have to stressfully chase it, but God will restfully add it to you as you obey the Holy Spirit’s promptings in giving to be a blessing to others. Amen!

The Blessedness of Being Sanctified from the Love of Money
“He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? If you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. You aren’t able to serve God and Mammon.” The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him. He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.” (Luke 16:10-15 WEB)
The love of money is very dangerous. It makes you choose what you think is most profitable for you instead of what God wants in a particular situation.
A person who is blinded by greed cannot be led by God because he wants to chase the riches of the world.
If money becomes a god in your heart, it is an abomination.
The Holy Spirit is saying today, “Can I trust you to do what is in My heart?”
He is looking for those who want to be so sanctified in their walk, free from the love of money, who can be easily led by Him.
“constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.” (1 Timothy 6:5-12 WEB)
Do you know that God can still bless you with more than enough even when you don’t actively pursue riches?
Contentment does not mean being happy that God will cause you to remain poor and lacking. That is just having a bad opinion of God, believing that He does not generously take care of His children.
Contentment means not being concerned about all these material things, believing that God will surely take good care of you no matter what.
A contented Christian is thankful and at peace. Even when he prospers financially, his eyes are still fixed on Jesus and his heart values God’s wisdom and knowledge as the true treasures.
To a Christian who desires to please God, money is seen as a useful tool—a type of seed to sow love and goodness, to practically further God’s kingdom through the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ here on earth.
One effective way to purify your heart from the love of money is to give your money away. Every time you give as led by the Holy Spirit, you learn to become emotionally detached from parting with money.
Then, the Holy Spirit will transform you from that phase to become a cheerful giver who loves to give. God is so gracious that He gives you more whenever you give. It literally pays to be generous.
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work. As it is written, “He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.” Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; you being enriched in everything to all liberality, which produces through us thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:8-11 WEB)
If you believe that God wants you to prosper in all things (3 John 1:2), and that He wants to give you a good future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11), then following the Holy Spirit at all times is surely the most beneficial decision you can make.
When you choose to be led by the Spirit, trust that God will make all His grace abound towards you so that you have sufficiency in everything!

““He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’” (Luke 19:17 WEB)
Fellow brethren, if you think that the temporal glitz and glamour of this world is great, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Jesus counts everything in this lifetime as “very little”. When you’re faithful in serving God with the very little He has entrusted with, He rewards you with disproportionately MUCH—talk about unfairly good!
Salvation is by Grace through faith, apart from our works.
On the other hand, eternal rewards are measured out by our good works done in faith, using the Grace we’ve received from God.
If you serve in a very little capacity in the household of God, don’t despise it. This tiny area that you’re stewarding (managing something you don’t own) for God, will cause you to be richly rewarded with something you do permanently own.
“He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? If you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?” (Luke 16:10-12 WEB)
You can’t take anything physical in this lifetime with you when you depart from your body to be in Heaven.
Everything material that is with you in this lifetime will cease to be under your stewardship when your mortal lifetime is up—they don’t really belong to you.
However the way you handled the things that don’t really belong to you will determine your role in Jesus’ Millennial Kingdom on earth and beyond.
Your mortal lifetime is sort of like a probation period, to assess what position you’re suitable for in eternity.
Will you allow the Grace you’ve received to be in vain, ensnared by the cares of this world and made unfruitful, or will you use your gifts wisely for Jesus’ sake to further God’s kingdom during your lifetime?
As mentioned in Jesus’ parable of the minas, the servant gained authority over ten cities for his faithful service in “very little”.
We can take it to mean that one of the eternal rewards a believer can receive is authority over cities in Jesus’ future Millennial kingdom on earth which will last for 1000 years before ushering in eternity.
You have a choice: to hustle for temporal power, riches and fame and enjoy for at most a few decades, or do you want to live a life that glorifies Jesus and be rewarded with a permanent, glorious position of honor and authority for 1000 years and beyond, in a much greater Kingdom?
Logically, the choice is clear. But will you allow the flesh to drive you to live for instant gratification, or will you rely on the Holy Spirit to lead you to true abundance and happiness in Christ?
“But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”” (1 Corinthians 2:9 WEB)
When it’s rewards receiving day, we’ll stand before Jesus’ throne and probably gasp in pleasant shock at the amazing rewards we’ll receive.
“Really, Lord? You’re giving all this to me when I did so little? Thank You!!!” We’ll beam with joy.
If you think the world knows what prosperity is, you’ve seen nothing yet—don’t give up on following the promptings of Holy Spirit inside you.
If you keep doing good, you will surely reap amazing rewards on that Day.

DARKSIDERS: GENESIS is an action/adventure game that tears its way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of DARKSIDERS before the events of the original game, as well as introduces the horseman STRIFE.
From the dawn of creation, THE COUNCIL has maintained the Balance across existence. Carrying out their orders are THE HORSEMEN, Nephilim (powerful beings spawned from the unnatural union of angels and demons) who have pledged themselves to the Council and been granted immense power. However, this power came at a tragic cost: the Horsemen were ordered to use their newfound strength to wipe out the rest of their kind. What followed was a bloody battle on Eden where the Horsemen, obeying the will of the Council, annihilated the Nephilim.
Still reeling from the events on Eden, WAR and STRIFE have been given a new assignment -- LUCIFER, the enigmatic and deceptive demon king, has been plotting to upset the Balance by granting power to master demons throughout Hell. War and Strife must hunt down these masters, gather information, and ultimately fight their way through a tangled, demonic conspiracy that threatens to forever upset the Balance and unravel all of creation.
