A student walked in to ask after the lecture. This question is in my head to home. The question is interesting. But what I am more interested in ' answer ' is ' source ' of this question.

What makes a twenty-year-old girl ask this question?

I don't think she is the only one who has a question if it is a representative of the same age of the same age and grievance.

Is it possible that the root of this question is the tiredness from trying to chase success, pressure from seeing the 'good life' of those who look like successful fast surround themselves, including carrying expectations from Parents, relatives, teachers, teachers, including society. You must be smart.

Does the world have space to help? Announce a lot of 'success'. TV, online media, clip, interview. Anyone who has done anything will have space to tell their own story.

But -- the world has so little space for 'failure'

What I care more about is the emotion of the person who asks, which I feel that she carries the pressure that 'must be successful'

I replied to her "not necessary I mean success in the definition of normal people" but our lives need to be happy. We are born to live the way we like, not the way others like, but we have to answer ourselves first that life. What I like to be and try to build it without anyone's ruler to measure "

'life we like' for me, it may consist of failure because what we fail may be what we want to try. What we miss. It may be learning. People who disappoint us may be good memories in some aspects.

We can lose, we can miss and we have a life that we like. In the midst of those misses. It's not strange.

But one person can be strong in his own mind. It has to go through a fragile time at a young age. These days that people around you have an important role in helping him not be too deep from falling down.

We may be wrong to think that 'success makes life happy'. The opposite, life is longing, but success may be a severe suffering life.

Life that allows yourself to fail. It's a happy life.

If we live in a society that is not crazy, success, then we can like our lives with both ingredients. That is -- normal life.

While there is not quite a lot of ' space for failure ', we may have to create this space first. Allow ourselves to fail, disappoint, defeated, assemble it to be part of life without pushing away. Don't try to live life. Only doing whatever you Only only.

「John, 我女兒Tiffany現在大一，能不能暑假到你們公司實習？她現在因為疫情的關係無法回去美國讀書」

「沒有問題啊，我們公司剛好缺國際業務，我就把她安排在業務團隊讓她試看看先做一些簡單的翻釋工作，只是一開始都是我們在花時間教育她，她不會成為即戰力，所以薪水只會是法令最低薪資可以嗎？」其實我一向不太收短期實習生，因為要花主管的時間訓練，而主管的時間也是公司寶貴的資源，而好不容易訓練起來了，他們還沒來得及為公司帶來貢獻，卻又離開了。

但是看在她是Savi跟Anna的學姐的份上，以及她媽媽平常真的是很熱於助人的家長會長，我也欣然答應， 只是沒有料到自己當初出於好心的善念，竟然會在接下來的一個月對公司出現了很大的影響力。

第一個禮拜，我怕Tiffany無聊，交給她功課，叫她去上網研究一下現在新的保養品牌的趨勢。

我沒有想到，一個禮拜後，她竟然會交出一份讓人眼晴為之一亮的報告。 簡報的內容，從排版，字體的一致性，以及堅持簡約的賈伯斯風格，重點是她不只分析出新型態的保養品牌趨勢，連他們各自的成功之道都分析的很透徹。從頭到尾沒有冷場。

我們聽完簡報之後，我在我們的主管群組傳了訊息：「我們真的是老恐龍了，今天Tiffany這份簡報非常的有價值，我們公司需要的就是這種新血，讓我們可以注入新思維」

我好奇的問了Tiffany: 「你這份簡報準備了多久啊？」

「三天」她害羞的說

「做得很棒耶，你的簡報能力跟搜尋能力是你在大學USC學的，還是在高中學的？」

「KAS prepares you well for the college， 因為我們在高中要常做報告，所以反而到了美國的大學就相對輕鬆」她這樣回答

「好，那我這星期派難一點的功課給你，你今天所報告的這些新創品牌以及明星自創品牌，你負責寫開發信給他們看看，讓他們知道台灣有一個佐研院可以為他們代工做出真正安全並且有效的保養品」

我們每星期三都會專門為代工業務開一整天的會議，討論我們如何能更進步的服務代工客戶，如何更有效的開發新客戶。

過了六天，我請Tiffany寄給我看她寫的開發信內容以及她的開發成績，我看了之後，眼晴為之一亮（again), 做了一些紀錄，決定明天跟同仁們分享一些好東西。

隔天的代工會議，當大家報告完進度後，我決定把Tiffany的開發信的內容截圖播放出來跟大家分享（沒有經過Tiffany的同意）

「你們看Tiffany寫的信內容，她是對每個客戶都做了足夠的研究，讓對方一看就知道這不是公版的信件，是有用心研究過他們的品牌核心理念，然後再把對方對品質的堅持跟我們佐研院的核心對接，讓對方知道我們會是最適合他們的夥伴。所以對方這麼有影響力的創辦人就真的回她信了」

我不吝嗇的在大家面前誇奬她，因為她才十九歲，又是實習生，其他同事不會把她當作是眼中釘。 重點是我想把好的，新的，更有效率的做事方式導入到我們的系統。

只有靠這樣的新血來給大家震憾教育，才是最快的企業文化進化。

隔週，我們的其他同仁也開始採取像Tiffany這樣先用心研究對方品牌的方式再引導對方來跟我們的殿堂合作，果然真的有效，開發信的命中率竟然提高了到了60%， 這可是很誇張的進步， 你們要知道，以前我們寄公版的開發信給300個客戶，有時連一封信都得不到回覆。

而Tiffany的進步跟影響並沒有就此停止，我又交給她新的功課，這次是幫公司寫企業介紹的英文版來申請Re100+（是一個世界級的能源永續組織）。

我只導覽帶她跟我走一次佐研院，讓她知道我們的企業跟其他企業的與眾不同之處，以及我們想要帶給台灣以及國際的影響。沒想到她又再一次寫出了一份令我驚艷的報告，直直打中我的心坎裡。

以下是我翻譯她寫的英文原文，身為創辦人的我都不確定自己的中文能否把她的好文章翻譯夠到位，但我努力看看。

It is founded and led by CEO John Lee, who graduated from Ohio University with a Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering. 佐見啦生技有限公司是2012年在台灣成立的公司，專注在製造跟銷售保養品。創辦人是李昆霖化工博士，畢業於俄亥俄大學。 在他的領導之下，這間公司已經成長到在台灣跟法國有120位員工。

JOLA INTERNATIONAL currently owns two brand: Timeless Truth Mask (TTM) and Jolab.

Through TTM and Jolab, JOLA INTERNATIONAL’s determination to constantly find ways for improvement ultimately creates impact both locally and globally. In Taiwan, TTM and Jolab are brands that stand out. Unlike traditional cosmetic brands in Taiwan, TTM started off as an e-commerce brand and aimed to market in France first. 以上是Tiffany所寫的英文文章，你們可以想像這是一個十九歲小女孩所寫出的英文文章嗎？連我這個創辦人都無法寫得比她更好，更何況她才只加入我們公司才二個禮拜。

於是我興奮的把這封信寄給了我們在美國的好朋友們，他們都是在他們各自業界的大人物，一個是物流業，一個是廣告業，我問他們看了文章後感想如何？他們都說寫得非常好，文筆流暢，觀點清楚。

於是我立刻打電話給Tiffany的媽媽，說能不能讓她休學，我好久沒有看到這麼優秀的人才了，我想要好好培養她，把她帶在身邊，跟著我一起跟美國知名廣告商開會，跟著我一起跟美方討論合資子公司，不只是因為我需要一個英文文筆很好的小助理，而是我覺得她可以為公司的思維帶來正面的影響。

我對父母提案是： 我會讓她直接可以跟美國廣告的最高執行長做報告，等到她可以回去加洲時，她就可以直接去那家知名的廣告公司上班，那可是加洲數一數二知名的廣告公司呢。

她媽媽聽到以後很開心， 但還是說要尊重她女兒的想法，畢竟那是她的人生，但她會引導她女兒說這是很難得的實習機會。

隔天，她媽媽很興奮的跟我說，她至少說服她女兒先休學半年在我們公司實習，然後還一直感謝我，說我是她女兒的貴人

「其實是因為她很優秀，就忍不住起了想要培養她的念頭」我這樣回她

昨天，Savi問我：「爸爸我以後可以打工嗎？」

「為什麼要打工？」

「因為我想賺點錢」

於是我跟她講了Tiffany來我們公司實習的故事，並且也給他看Tiffany所寫的文章是多麼的優秀。然後我跟他說：「爸爸並不是反對你打工，但重點是你選的工作是你可以從中學習，讓你變更好的人，而不是只為了存錢而打工，那就只會是浪費時間而已」

我鼓勵他，暑假有時間的話，還不如努力提升自己的能力跟思維觀點（像是大量的閱讀），就可以有機會成為像Tiffany學姐那麼優秀的人才。

「到時你的光采會如此耀眼，要讓人忽視你都很難」

我這樣的鼓勵他

註1: 最高標準的歐盟的保養品法規並沒有要求製程一定要用製藥等級的淨水器，但我們就是想要做到更好，引進了藥廠等級的淨水系統，於是超越了最高等級的歐盟法規

p.s.2 Tiffany現在才進公司第四個禮拜，已經開始直接做簡報跟美國的合作夥伴concall對談，我刻意給她舞台，讓她可以跟廣告公司的最高執行長以及營運長對談，這對她以後的職業生涯會有很好的幫助

Dear Student,

I want you to know, I feel you. Maybe you've not done so well in your exams and you're feeling down and bleak about your future. You're unsure if you'll be able to make it anywhere because of the numbers/alphabets on your school examinations result slips. I am here to tell you, don't be afraid or discouraged. I was a student and never was I gifted academically. In fact my grades were average at best and I often failed at important subjects like Maths, Science and Mother Tongue. Heck, even in Polytechnic I didn't do well in my modules. I had this impression when I was studying that damn, I'm going to be an average nobody throughout my life because of my school results but as I grew and matured, life taught me that this was NOT the case.

Understand that your life is not determined by your exam results. In fact those numbers and alphabets on your result slips tell you nothing of the trajectory of your life, of what U can achieve and become in future. Everyone is talented & gifted in different ways. You can't put a horse and fish in a foot race and expect the fish to win. The fish was made to swim and if the fish is judged purely by how it runs, then of course it won't do well.

Don't get me wrong tho, I'm not saying f*ck school and just do your thing but what I'm saying is, don't be discouraged or feel like you have lost all hope in life just because you didn't do well in school cos that ain't the only way to success and a good life. Doing well academically does not automatically mean U would do well in the workforce. Its two totally different things. Your life is not determined by a piece of paper but by your attitude, your determination, your work ethic & your desire to succeed.

If I had believed and based my self-esteem and future on my exam results, I would never be where I am today. I was from a below average neighbourhood school, raised in a humble hawker family and grew up in the streets and HDB void decks. Despite what society and my environment made me feel about my potential & my future, I always believed in myself. I put in the work, the time, the heart and the sacrifice to achieve what I wanted to achieve and despite the several setbacks and bad times I faced along the way, I never gave up and here I am today making a comfortable living doing what I love. If I can do it, you can absolutely do it. Believe in YOURSELF because the BEST is yet to BE!

파격적인 변신이 돋보이는 다섯 번째 미니앨범 [CRYSTYLE]




2017년 1월, CLC가 변신과 함께 새로운 도약을 준비한다. 이번 미니 5집 [CRYSTYLE]은 ‘CLC 만의 스타일’이라는 의미로 미니 4집 [NU.CLEAR]의 ‘아니야’로 이미 검증 받은 CLC만의 예쁘고 엉뚱한 매력이 극대화 됨과 동시에 성숙해지고 카리스마가 강해진 모습을 확인할 수 있다. 큐브 소속 선배인 현아의 타이틀 곡 ‘도깨비‘ 작사에 참여하며 CLC의 파격적인 스타일과 음악적 변신을 응원했다. 또한, 그 동안 CLC의 전곡 랩메이킹에 참여하며 실력을 쌓아온 멤버 예은이 본격적으로 ‘Mistake’와 ‘미유미유(Meow Meow)’, ‘말이야’까지 수록된 세 곡의 작사에 참여하며 이번 앨범에 대한 기대감을 높였다.




타이틀 곡 ‘도깨비’는 기존의 귀엽고 깜찍한 CLC에서 한껏 파워풀하고 유니크한 매력으로 대중들에게 확실한 인상을 남기겠다는 포부가 담긴 EDM TRAP(트랩) 장르의 곡으로, 국내 최고 걸크러시 솔로 여가수이자, 큐브 선배인 현아가 CLC멤버들을 위해 직접 작사에 참여하며 화제를 불러일으켰다. 좋아하는 상대에게 적극적으로 어필하며 마음을 홀리는 여자 도깨비라는, 전에 없던 캐릭터의 이야기가 담긴 재미있고 참신한 가사가 눈길을 끈다.

첫 번째 트랙 ‘Liar’는 감각적인 바운스가 돋보이는 Future Bass Ratchet Pop(퓨처 베이스 래칫 팝) 스타일의 곡으로, 거짓말투성이 연인에 대한 감정을 CLC 멤버 7명 각각의 매력으로 풀어낸 감각적인 곡이다. 작/편곡에 참여한 Devine Channel(디바인 채널)은 EXO, 방탄소년단, 트와이스 등 다수의 아티스트들의 히트곡을 발표한 작곡가 크루로, CLC의 개성 있는 이미지를 극대화 시켜 국내뿐 아니라 새로운 해외 팬들의 만족도도 충족시켜줄 수 있는 작품을 완성했다. 세 번째 트랙 ‘Mistake’는 편한 친구와 어느 날 분위기에 취해 실수로 키스한 후의 후회와 설렘 등 복잡한 감정을 위트 있게 풀어나가는 내용의 곡이다. 90년대 스타일의 힙합 비트에 어쿠스틱 베이스와 기타, 신시사이저 사운드가 절묘하게 조화를 이루어 이 곡의 매력을 더해준다. 고양이의 도도하고 시크한 성격을 가사의 모티브로 이용하여 만들어진 ‘미유미유(Meow Meow)’는 고양이 마크를 상징처럼 사용하는 CLC스러운 곡이다. 마치 고양이의 울음소리를 표현한 중독성 있는 가사가 귀를 사로잡는다. 다섯 번째 트랙 ‘말이야’는 좋아하는 이성의 애매모호한 태도에 대한 답답함을 표현한 곡이다. 기다리기 힘든 애타는 마음을 ‘말이야’라는 반복되는 가사를 통해 위트 있게 풀어내어 전국의 많은 썸남 썸녀들이 공감할 만한 곡이다. 마지막 트랙 ‘눈물병’은 사랑하는 남자와의 이별로 인해 마음 속에 병이 들고, 그로 인해 흘리는 눈물은 또 다시 가슴 속에 맺혀 그리움으로 변해가는 악순환을 반복하며 갈팡질팡하는 여자의 심경을 담은 곡이다. 화려한 스트링 세션과 코러스, 애절한 CLC 멤버들의 목소리로 탄생한 마이너 풍의 발라드 곡이다.

미니 5집 [CRYSTYLE]은 변신을 두려워하지 않는 당찬 일곱 소녀들만의 스타일이 고스란히 담겨있는 유니크한 곡들로 가득 찬 앨범이다. 보여줄게 아직 너무나도 많은 CLC의 매력 포텐이 ‘뚝딱’ 터지길 기대한다.

A dramatic change stands out in their 5th mini album [CRYSTYLE]

In January, 2017, CLC is on the verge of a new leap forward with their changes. This 5th mini album [CRYSTYLE] means ‘Own style of CLC’, and you will be able to check out that their beauty and quirky charms have maximized, and become more matured and filled with charisma since their 4th mini album [NU.CLEAR]. HyunA, senior artist of Cube, participated in writing lyrics of the title song "Hobgoblin" and cheered for the drastic style and musical transformation of CLC. Moreover, Ye-eun, the member of CLC who had been making the rap lines of whole CLC’s songs, has formally participated in the lyrics of three songs, ‘Mistake’, ‘Meow Meow’ and ‘I mean that’, raising expectations for their new album.

The title song ‘Hobgoblin’ is an EDM Trap music which shows a strong desire to impress the public with a powerful and unique charm, differ from cute and pretty CLC what they used to be, and Hyuna, a senior artist of Cube and at the same time renown as a best girl crush solo female artist, involving in writing lyrics for CLC members become a hot issue. It tells about a story of a female hobgoblin actively appeals to her favorable partner which has been never dealt with in lyrics before. The first track ‘Liar’, is a Future Bass Ratchet Pop style song with a sensuous bounces, and interprets the feelings of a lover full of lies in CLC members’ respective styles. The Devine Channel, a writer’s crew who worked with many K-pop artists such as EXO, BTS and Twice, also took part in composition and arrangement of this album and not only maximized unique image of CLC but also satisfies overseas fans. ‘Mistake’ is the third track which talks about complex feelings such as regret and fluttering after kissed with a casual guy friend by mistake when they felt a little high. The acoustic bass and guitar and the synthesizer sound over the 90s hiphop style beat well matches together and adds charm of this song. ‘Meow Meow’ illustrates cat’s chic personality as a motif of lyrics and since CLC’s symbol is a cat character it is very CLC-like song. The addictive lyrics express the cries of cats and catch the ears of the listeners. The fifth track, ‘I mean that’ demonstrates a feeling of restlessness because of the ambiguous attitude of a man. The song "I mean that" is a catchy song using witty lyrics which someone who is flirting with others might feel the same way. The last song ‘Depression’ contains the story of a woman who is confused and sick of a break up with beloved man and her dropped tears still lingers in mind becoming a strong longing for him repeatedly. This song is a minor ballad song recorded with full harmonized string session and backup singers, and CLC’s mournful voices.

5th mini album [CRYSTYLE] is full with unique tracks which convey their own style of seven girls who don’t feel any fear of their drastic changes. CLC has too many things to show you, so please look forward to this album which will be a great opportunity for them to prove their amazing potential!

一個全人類攜手的世界大同

繼 2014 年的〈Peace〉之後，金曲歌王方大同生涯二度獻上全英文饒舌作品，為全人類的命運做出堅定呼籲。歌名〈TWIOCAMIC〉，原意為「世界僅一國，萬眾皆其民」（The world is one country, and mankind its citizens），是方大同長期信仰的巴哈伊教中心思想。從小時候起，方大同所受的教育讓他認知到自己生活在一個地球村。無論去到何處、認識什麼樣的人，他總是會在彼此身上發現許多共同點，也看到彼此的不同可以互補而完美。另一方面，全世界似乎都有相同的問題，暴力與仇恨不斷重演，偏見割裂了愛和信任。方大同認為這些難關，正是時代給予人類蛻變的契機。

在 2020 年，方大同終於將多年來腦海中一直醞釀著的概念付諸實現，完成了這首〈TWIOCAMIC〉。卸下華麗甜美的旋律和弦，在簡約行軍節拍中以認真口吻娓娓道來，點出「每個人皆獨特，但生而平等」的全曲核心。只要懷抱愛與耐心，人類必能團結合作，邁向真正的世界大同。如同在單曲封面上，象徵不同膚色的大大小小石頭，透過代表下一代的小朋友眼睛看去，是充滿無限希望的美好未來。

Soulful Singer-Songwriter KHALIL FONG Drops Poignant New Hip-Hop Single ‘TWIOCAMIC’ on 7th August 2020

With more than 40 million music streams online, best known for his soulful lyrics and smooth R&B vocals, Chinese-American singer-songwriter Khalil Fong is using his gift to spread a message of unity and progression in his new hip-hop single, ‘TWIOCAMIC’.

“I’ve always identified as a world citizen which lets me see the similarities in all peoples and cultures. I believe the future depends on our children’s ability to see the past, present and future in a new light.” – KHALIL FONG

Produced at Fong’s home in quarantine, ‘TWIOCAMIC’, which stands for ‘The World Is One Country And Mankind Its Citizens’, sees the R&B artist rap philosophically about finding unity in diversity and achieving harmony amongst the human race. Addressing the moral concepts of ‘good’ and ‘bad’, Fong’s lyrics tackle the idea that until people start recognising their collective roles, we’ll continue repeating common historical mistakes:

“I’ve wanted to sing about these concepts for the past five years, but only recently did I have the full inspiration and motivation to complete the idea.
