這是Reading House系列--The Elves and the Shoemaker的句子，大家拿著自己心愛的鞋子，叫賣起來。
真正開始角色扮演的時候，大家講完故事讀本裡的句子，便演起默劇來，因為完全不知道後面的句子該怎麼用美語表達呀！
其實看著孩子們努力完成買賣鞋子的過程，也蠻不錯的！畢竟比手畫腳是最原始的溝通方式嘛！但就在那個時候，開始有小孩發問了⋯⋯
『這個嗎？』的英文怎麼說啊？

也因此，我們把故事讀本裡沒有提到的對話細節，一一地討論、練習，孩子們才發現，原來平常學的句子，是要用在這個情境裡呀！

最近在讀幾本中國的英語啟蒙書，讓我有點意外的是他們都建議除了繪本，也讓孩子按階段接觸分級讀本，還不會閱讀的孩子從共讀、聽錄音開始，等學會讀了再讓孩子自己讀一遍。
跟繪本相比，分級讀本的好處是同級別難易程度一致，可以挑選適合孩子程度的。
缺點是藝術性不如繪本，有些讀本故事很無聊……
查了 Amazon 上面的評價，說這套經典童話故事改編得很有趣（故事本身就贏了啊），每冊不同繪者，可以看到不同風格的作品。很適合剛能自己閱讀的孩子，難易程度 Guided Reading Levels 是 E ~ I，適合英語母語大班~小二的孩子。

The Gingerbread Man (also known as The Gingerbread Boy) is a folktale about a gingerbread man's escape from various pursuers and his eventual demise between the jaws of a fox. "The Gingerbread Boy "first appeared in print in the May, 1875, issue of St. Nicholas Magazine in a cumulative tale which, like "The Little Red Hen", depends on repetitious scenes featuring an ever-growing cast of characters for its effect.[1] According to the reteller of the tale, "A girl from Maine told it to my children. It interested them so much that I thought it worth preserving. I asked where she found it and she said an old lady told it to her in her childhood."[2]
1875 story
In the 1875 St. Nicholas tale, a childless old woman bakes a gingerbread man who leaps from her oven and runs away. The woman and her husband give chase but fail to catch him. The Gingerbread man then outruns several farm workers and farm animals while taunting them with the phrase:
I've run away from a little old woman,
A little old man,
And I can run away from you, I can!
The tale ends with a fox catching and eating the gingerbread man who cries as he's devoured, "I'm quarter gone...I'm half gone...I'm three-quarters gone...I'm all gone!"[3]

The Three Little Pigs
The story begins with the title characters being sent out into the world by their mother, to "seek out their fortune". The first little pig builds a house of straw, but a wolf blows it down and devours him. The second little pig builds a house of sticks, which the wolf also blows down, and the second little pig is also devoured. Each exchange between wolf and pig features ringing proverbial phrases, namely:
"Little pig, little pig, let me come in."
"No, no, by the hair on my chiny chin chin."
"Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in."
The third little pig builds a house of bricks. The wolf fails to blow down the house. He then attempts to trick the pig out of the house by asking to meet him at various places, but he is outwitted each time. Finally, the wolf resolves to come down the chimney, whereupon the pig catches the wolf in a cauldron of boiling water, slams the lid on, then cooks and eats him. In some versions, the first and second little pigs are not eaten by the wolf after he demolishes their homes, but instead run to their brother's house, and after the wolf goes down the chimney he either dies like in the original, or runs away and never returns to eat the three little pigs, who all survive in either case.

The Tortoise and the Hare
The story concerns a Hare who ridicules a slow-moving Tortoise. Tired of the Hare's arrogant behavior, the Tortoise challenges him to a race. The hare soon leaves the tortoise behind and, confident of winning, takes a nap midway through the race. When the Hare awakes however, he finds that his competitor, crawling slowly but steadily, has arrived before him. The later version of the story in La Fontaine's Fables (VI.10), while more long-winded, differs hardly at all from Aesop's.
