今天是5月3號，Ruby的第二個生日，算是她的重生日的13週年。今年我還快遞一個包裹給她，內容有我的第三張專輯，太空人冰淇淋，還有生日卡。
13年前，24歲的我捐了骨髓給9歲的她。從那時候到現在，我們一直都透過網路保持聯絡。她現在大二，主修物理治療。因為她最近忙著準備考試，我希望這次的驚喜可以在她休息時候讓她放鬆，聽音樂，吃個點心。
Ruby今天跟我分享恢復這13年的過程真的不容易。她那時白血癌治好了之後，過了12年又發現甲狀腺發炎。去年因為開刀把甲狀腺拿掉，也休學幾個月。Ruby說如果她媽媽那時候沒有飛來陪她，她就不會知道要怎麼度過。開刀復原之後，她就重生了第三次。
她講到這裡我聽的非常感動。我發現過了13年的時間，她一直都好珍惜每一天，絕對不把生命當作理所當然。
每一年的今天她會謝謝我還有謝謝家人的陪伴，也會被她稱呼超級英雄。但我這時候想跟他說：Ruby，你才是真正的超級英雄。

13 years ago, I donated my bone marrow to a 9 year old girl. Fast forward to now, and we have become friends although we have never met in person. Ruby continues to inspire me and has changed my life as much as I have changed hers.
Last year, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer due to radiation treatments she'd undergone as a child. Ruby shared with me how difficult it was at that time, even taking time off from college, and having her mom fly over for emotional support. Ruby ended up getting her thyroid removed and recovering completely. She considers her recovery her third 'rebirth'day.
I can't help but be so moved listening to her story today, on the anniversary of her second 'rebirth'day. Life is so precious, it certainly bears repeating. If anything, today reminds me not to take life for granted. Not for a second.

When it comes to looking at a certain player's career or comparing one player ov
er another, Championships are always among the first achievements mentioned.
當談到某個球員的職業生涯或比較一個球員和另一個球員時，冠軍總是被提到的第一個成就
之一。
But do we put too much stock in winning? According to DeMar DeRozan, the answer
is yes. In a chat with Taylor Rooks on Wednesday, the Bulls star made the vase f
or why fans, analysts, and even some players put far too much weight on rings.
但是我們是否對贏球投入了太多的關注？根據 DDR的說法，答案是肯定的。在周三與 Taylo

"There are so many great players that don't have rings and if you bring up that
player versus another player that does have a ring, you will discredit that grea
t player by saying 'he don't have a ring.' But you can't take away all the accom
plishments he had in his career because some people don't even get half of what
some of these great players have. Just because they don't have a ring, you wanna
say he not like this player. At times, I do feel like it's a lot thrown on it b
ecause all these competitors wished they had a ring. That's the ultimate thing f
or us to have but everybody can't have a ring but that don't mean you can't work
your butt off and be the best teammate, best player, you could be throughout yo
ur whole career."
DDR：有很多偉大的球員沒有戒指，如果你把那個球員與另一個有戒指的球員進行比較，你
會用“他沒有戒指”來詆毀那個偉大的球員。但是你不能忽略他在職業生涯中取得的所有成
就，因為有些人甚至連這些偉大球員的一半成就都沒有，僅僅因為他們沒有戒指，你就想說
他不如這個球員。有時，我確實覺得這很重要，因為所有這些競爭者都希望他們有一枚戒指
，這對我們來說是終極目標。但每個人都擁有戒指是不可能的，不過這並不代表著你不能全
力以赴，成為最好的隊友、最好的球員，你可以在整個職業生涯中都做到這一點。
Like other talented players, DeRozan lacks the hardware that factors in so much
to greatness. Without a Championship, DeRozan is overlooked and discredited by m
any.
和其他有天賦的球員一樣，DDR缺乏能夠成就偉大的戒指。沒有冠軍，DDR會被許多人忽視和
抹黑。
But winning a title is not easy, nor does it rely on the greatness of one partic
ular player. A team has to have the right players at the right time playing the
right way under exactly the right conditions to beat their foes and become the o
ne team out of dozens to hoist a banner at the end of the season.
但贏得冠軍並不容易，也不能只依賴於某個特定球員的好表現。一支球隊必須有合適的球員
在正確的時間、在正確的條件下以正確的方式打球，才能擊敗他們的對手，並成為數十支球
隊中唯一一支在賽季末舉起旗幟的球隊。
Legends like Charles Barkley, Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, and Karl Malone are jus
t a few players who have never had that experience.
像老巴、AI、飄髮哥和郵差這樣的傳奇球員只是少數從未有過這種經歷的球員。
Joining those names would be an honor for DeRozan. Fortunately, he still has ple
nty of time to add that illustrious Championship to his resume.
