Our shared value of cultural inclusion and diversity is an important part of the people-to-people ties that serve as the foundation of the U.S.-Taiwan friendship. Diane Sovereign, Chief of the Public Diplomacy Section represented AIT at the 10th Longgang Rice Noodle Festival in Taoyuan. This festive event centered around a variety of delicious Yunnan-Burmese cuisines, prepared by the minority groups from the Golden Triangle who have called Taoyuan their home for many years. The event included ethnic food and song and dance, and showcased Taiwan’s amazing culture of social inclusion and diversity. The festivities ended with an impressive torch-lighting ceremony led by Taoyuan City Mayor CHENG Wen-tsan. If you have not, you must try these traditional delicacies when you have a chance to visit Taoyuan!
