"Beauty and the Beast is a 2017 American family musical romantic fantasy adventure film. The film is a live-action remake of Disney's 1991 animated film of the same name, itself an adaptation of Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont 's eighteenth-century fairy tale. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Emma Watson and Dan Stevens as the titular characters, with numerous famous actors and actresses in supporting roles.

In the film, Belle is imprisoned in an enchanted castle by a fearsome Beast, who soon falls in love with her. There, she learns that the Beast was a local aristocrat who is cursed by a mysterious sorceress with his servants into their current states as penance for their past callousness.
