AIT與壯闊台灣、衛福部台北區緊急醫療應變中心、台灣醫療救護學會，以及消防員工作權益促進會於上周末共同舉辦「成為彼此的後盾」夏令營，主旨為提升民眾在現今社會中對於「安全」及其重要性的認識。在當天的活動中，AIT政治官黃東偉、聯絡事務組組長柯明修、舒安容醫師，與壯闊台灣發起人吳怡農及各界專家，與全台各地60位學員一起在講座及工作坊中，建立從個人到社區的緊急應變能力，模擬應對新型態的安全威脅及災害應變，學習危機處理與領導，以及急救實務與操作。
AIT partnered with the Forward Alliance, the Taipei’s Disaster Medical Assistance Team, Taiwan Society of Paramedicine, and National Association for Firefighters’ Rights in hosting a “Millions Strong: Saving Your Neighbor” summer camp under the theme of Community-Based Resilience. Throughout the whole-day event, AIT officers Thomas Wong, Matthew Kent, and Dr. Erika Schroeder joined Forward Alliance Founder Enoch Wu and experts in various fields to interact with 60 attendees between the age of 18 and 60 coming from all over the island. The goal is to build capacity in emergency responses among individuals and communities, and training and simulation on emerging security threats, disaster preparedness, leadership in crisis and first-aid essentials were provided to raise the awareness of the importance of “security” and what it means in the context nowadays.
