來到小雪,代表天氣真正轉寒了,黃河流域開始下雪,所以稱之為小雪。而位於南方的香港仍在暖寒轉換期,時有寒流侵擾,早晚溫差變化大,所以要注意穿著,多加保暖,以防着涼感冒。在這個節氣宜早睡晚起,等太陽完全出來才起床活動,以防陽氣受清晨的寒氣所傷。
小雪開始,飲食以「溫補養腎」為原則。適量進食可以讓身體熱起來的食物如羊肉、牛肉、生薑、炒米水等;而多吃黑色食物如黑木耳、黑芝麻、黑豆等就可以養好腎氣。

・先把厚衣吹一吹,別讓自己帶著臭丸味
・別因寒風而緊閉窗戶,定時開窗換換氣
・吃個羊腩煲溫補一下
・睡前熱水浸腳促進血液循環
Minor Snow Solar Term
Minor snow represents that the temperature will start to cool and it likely began to snow near the yellow river basin. Hong Kong is still in the midst of seasonal transition with a larger difference in temperature between day and night so it is important to keep warm and avoid catching a cold. It is suitable to sleep early and sleep in a bit during this season to nourish the kidneys and gently replenish the body. You can have ingredients that warm up the body such as lamb, beef, raw ginger, fried rice water, and have black coloured ingredients such as black fungus, black sesame, black soya beans to nourish kidney qi.
Gentle reminders:
- Have a cup of warm rice water when you wake up
- Air out your winter clothes before wearing to prevent the storage smell
- Be sure to open the windows occasionally to circulate air
- Have a pot of stewed lamb brisket to replenish your body
- Soak your feet before bed time to promote blood circulation

走過 Check-In Taipei 很多次,午飯時間總是見到人頭湧湧,今天終於有位置可以坐下試試。和同事分別點了兩份午餐分享,一份鹽酥雞配滷肉飯,另一份三杯雞配蕎麥冷麵(芝麻醬)。兩款雞都偏鹹,但鹽酥雞沒有想像中的油膩感,蕎麥麵沒有過熟,不錯的。 每款午餐也配有煸豆、椰菜和茄子作配菜,多一點點綠。
Walked passed Check-In Taipei for so many times and found it was always full at lunch hour. So lucky today that we got a seat and could try the lunch set. We ordered 2 sets to share, one with deep-fried chicken and braised pork rice, another one with Taiwanese stewed chicken and soba. The chicken was quite salty but not greasy. Each lunch set also came with fried beans, cabbage and eggplants as sidedish.

大米2杯,2 cup rice

生抽2大勺,2 tbsp light soysauce
黄酒1大勺,1 tbsp shaoxing rice wine
冷冻蔬菜100g,100g frozen vegetables

● 辣烤鸡翅Spicy grilled chicken wings:
鸡翅中500g,500g chicken wings
生抽3大勺,3 tbsp light soysauce

辣椒粉2小勺,2 tsp chili powder

Ingredients:
Serves 4 - 5 pax
4 slices of ginger
2 scallion stems
1 bulb of garlic - with skin intact
10 pieces of dried chilli - soaked & de-seeded
2 cinnamon bark
2 star anise
1 teaspoon of Sichuan peppercorns
600g of pork soft bones
2 cans of beer
1 cup of Chinese rice wine
2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
2 tablespoons of light soya sauce
2 tablespoons of dark soya sauce
15g of rock sugar
------Braise for 1 hour (add 2 cups of water at the 45-min mark)
------After 1 hour, add
2 cups of water
300g of potatoes
170g of carrots
200g of radish
------Braise for another 30 - 45 minutes
------After 30/45 mins, add
2 tablespoons of Chinese cooking wine (also known as Shaoxing Huatiao wine)
Some cornstarch solution
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
