EYELINER ~~
Many people have asked me before on how I create a natural look on my eyes. Other than eye shadow, I think the eyeliner is one of the most important components in creating that natural look. FINALLY! I have time to share with you my tips on how to draw a good eyeliner., hehe...
~Here is my step-by-step guide on how to apply eyeliner to create a natural look. ~
Have everything ready before you start:
mirror, powder puff/ face puff, eyeliner (sometimes I use liquid eyeliner, sometimes I use pencil), dark brown eye shadow
There are a many types of eyeliner, including pencil, liquid, gel, etc.
Liquid eyeliner is the most difficult to apply. If you have a steady hand, apply it by brushing short strokes close to the lash line. Start at the middle of the eye and slowly brush to the end of the lash line. Then start at the inner part of the eye and continue to brush until you reach the middle of your eye at that point that you began with.
Usually I use black liquid eyeliner or black pencil eyeliner for shooting, and brown liquid eyeliner for an everyday casual look.
The method below can be applied with both liquid and pencil eyeliner.
If you are using a pencil, remember to sharpen it before you start.
1) Put a small mirror on the table.
2) Put a powder puff on your wrist of your dominant hand (your dominant hand is the hand you will use to hold the eyeliner). The powder puff is to prevent from any smudges on your face while applying the eyeliner.
3) Rest the elbow of your dominant arm on the table, then rest your wrist with the powder puff on your cheek. Look at the mirror at a roughly 45 degree angle, with your eyes in a half-open state to create a good angle for application.
At the same time, with your other hand, gently pull your eyelid to the side and slightly upwards (this action might look ugly but it really helps you to get a more accurate line). While holding your eyelid with one hand and eyeliner on the other hand, draw a continuous line. If you have problems with drawing it with a liquid liner, try practicing it with a pencil first.
4) Dip a flat brush in a dark brown eye shadow.
5) With the brush, smudge the eyeliner to achieve a soft and natural line.
6) Here I’m using a really small flat brush because it is more convenient for me to carry around, but any flat brush will do.
Finish it with applying mascara.
To fix any mistakes you might make, use a cotton swab dipped in eye makeup remover and gently press and twist the cotton swab on the spots you want to erase. Then, reapply the eyeliner.
After learning the steps, try to practice more in front of your mirror with the necessary tools. Practice makes perfect so PRACTICE ! PRACTICE ! PRACTICE !
