Good morning everybody!
Did you know that the headstand or Shirsasana is called the King of Yoga Poses?This is due to increased blood circulation to almost every part of the body in a reverse gravitational position which we are not normally in.
Some benefits:
-improves blood circulation to the brain in helping mental function;releases feel-good toxins such as oxytocin in managing stress and focus
-sends oxygen and nutrient rich blood to the eyes,head and scalp; preventing muscular degeneration of the eyes and other issues as well as possible hair growth
-better digestion with stimulation of the digestive organs in eliminating trapped gas etc
-stimulates the lympathic system in helping remove toxins from the body
-strengthens the arm,back and core muscles
Note: To reap the benefit of any yoga pose,one should perform it with proper technique accompanied with breathing exercises.If not, this can cause adverse effects to the body.So,be mindful and accept your body for what it can do NOW.In that,progress will come!
