Petai or Parkia speciosa contains three natural sugars -sucrose, fructose and glucose. Combined with fiber, petai gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proved that just two servings of petai provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout.. No wonder petai is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. Ngày xưa bố mẹ mình yêu chiều con gái lắm, mình chẳng biết một chút cơ bản nào về bếp núc luôn, thái thịt còn bị người ta cười cho vì thái sai thớ. Thế mà bây giờ, vì tình yêu bản thân, yêu gia đình mà mình trở thành người thích nấu ăn. Thích từ nguyên liệu thực phẩm, cho tới đồ gia dụng, thích đi siêu thị, thích tính toán từng calories và vitamin, khoáng chất sao cho anh chồng khoẻ mạnh, phốp pháp hihi.
Đây là bữa trưa hôm qua của mình nè, mọi người thấy thế nào? 😀 Trông đẹp mắt mà ăn cũng ngon cực luôn, mà làm dễ lắm luôn ý. Chỉ cần cho tất cả vào trong lò nướng rồi ngồi rung đùi chờ 20 phút là xong. Tụi mình ngồi tính calories và phát hiện ra với khẩu phần ăn của người Việt Nam rất thiếu Kali (hay còn gọi là Potassium) luôn. Mà Kali là chất dẫn truyền thần kinh, giúp cho não, dây thần kinh, cơ và tim hoạt động ổn định, còn giúp hạ huyết áp, ổn định lượng nước (chất lỏng) trong cơ thể.
Quan trọng kinh khủng, thế mà ai cũng thiếu 🙂 Vì thông thường mọi người nạp quá nhiều Natri (Sodium) và thiếu Kali (Potassium) nên mới hay bị cao huyết áp, tích nước,...
Và một điều hay ho nữa là Kali có trong khoai tây cực nhiều, mà ăn khoai tây thì siêu ngonnnn. Khoai tây là món ưa thích của Na nhưng hồi bé Na hay nghĩ ăn khoai tây chiên là dạng junk food, không tốt cho sức khoẻ ý, nên Na không ăn. Nhưng sau một thời gian học về dinh dưỡng thì Na mới hiểu là khoai tây cực tốt cho sức khoẻ nha chị em, chỉ là do cách chế biến của các bạn như thế nào thôi. Một củ khoai tây Mỹ trung bình 148g còn vỏ chứa chỉ 110 calories, không chất béo, không sodium, không cholesterol nhưng lại chứa đến 27g Vitamin C và 620mg Kali.

Mọi người mua khoai ở các siêu thị lớn trên cả nước hay các cửa hàng bán hàng nhập khẩu, nhớ đọc kỹ và tìm cho đúng hàng "made in USA" thì mới chuẩn nhaaa.

百香果 — 又名熱情果,性平,具有潤腸通便、開胃、生津潤燥功效,適合高血壓、貧血、皮膚乾燥、食慾不振、心悸失眠、便秘人士食用。由於味道偏酸,胃酸過多者不宜食用;而由於含豐富鉀質,腎功能不全者避免食用。

Passion fruit to stimulate appetite
To combat the scorching summer heat and increased perspiration, aside from keeping hydrated by drinking more water, increasing intake of seasonal fruits is also a good way to maintain one’s health.
During the summer season, consumption of sour fruits is recommended. This is because from the point of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acid exhibits constringent properties and thus, sour food is effective in reducing sweat. Furthermore, the sour taste promotes salivation and quenches thirst.
The purple-skinned passion fruit’s flesh is both sour and sweet. Passion fruit is effective in cleansing the colon, stimulating appetite, promoting salivation, relieving dryness, nourishing the blood, and has soothing effect to the mind and body. As the passion fruit seeds are usually eaten together with its flesh, one would be taking in a lot of fiber as well, which helps to relieve constipation.
Do you often find passion fruit too sour to eat? It turns out passion fruit is only ripe and sweet when its skin is all wrinkled up. To enjoy the fruit, one can cut it into halves and scoop the flesh out with a spoon to eat it straight or with cheese, blend it into a fruit juice, or even make it into an appetizing salad.
Passion fruit is neutral in nature and effective in promoting bowel movement, increasing appetite, inducing salivation and relieving dryness. Thus, making it suitable to be taken by people with high blood pressure, anemia, dehydrated skin, poor appetite, palpitations, insomnia, or constipation. As the taste is slightly sour, people with increased gastric acid secretion should refrain from taking passion fruit; and as it is rich in potassium, individuals with compromised renal function should avoid eating the fruit as well.

Each Recipe makes 500ml (2 cups):
1) CITRUS REFRESHER
Ingredients
- ¼ cup (62.5ml) Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- ¼ cup (62.5ml) Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
- 1.5 cups (375ml) Water, or more depending on how strong you want the flavour to be.
- 1/8 tsp. Sea Salt
- 1 tbsp. Raw Honey or Maple Syrup, to taste
Nutritional Value: 15g Sugar, 287.5mg Sodium, 146mg Potassium
Recommendation: After an intense exercise of one hour.
2) WATERMELON ELECTROLYTE BOOSTER
Ingredients
- 1 cup Watermelon Cubes, deseeded
- 1.5 cups (375ml) Coconut Water
Nutritional Value: 18.82g Sugar, 380mg Sodium, 1170mg Potassium
Recommendation: After an extremely intense prolong exercise of more than an hour.
3) HERBAL COOLER
Ingredients
- 2 cups (500ml) Green or Herbal Tea, steeped & chilled
*something citrus preferably
- 1/8 tsp. Sea Salt
- 1 tbsp. Raw Honey or Maple Syrup, to taste
Nutritional Value: 15g Sugar, 290mg Sodium, 45mg Potassium
Recommendation: After a moderately intense exercise below an hour.
4) LEMON & GINGER COOLER
Ingredients
- ½ cup (125ml) Ginger Water
- ¼ cup (62.5ml) Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
- 1.5 cups (375ml) Water
- 1/8 tsp. Sea Salt (287.5mg Sodium)
- 1 tbsp. Raw Honey or Maple Syrup, to taste
Nutritional Value: 15g Sugar, 292.5mg Sodium, 83.3mg Potassium
Recommendation: After a moderately intense exercise below an hour.
5) 100% FRUIT QUENCHER
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250ml) 100% Natural Juice
- 1 cup (250ml) Water
- 1/8 Sea Salt
Nutritional Value: 36Sugar, 297.5mg Sodium, 263mg Potassium
Recommendation: After an intense exercise of 1 to 2 hours.
COCONUT WATER Nutritional Value (1 cup):
600mg Potassium - 252mg Sodium - 6.2g Sugar
