Joined The Republic of Singapore Air Force at their golden jubilee parade and flypast this morning.
The RSAF has come a long way from its modest beginnings 50 years ago, when the Singapore Air Defence Command was formed. Lacking resources and manpower, our pioneer officers built the RSAF with their resourcefulness, passion and determination.
Today, the RSAF is a professional and well-equipped air force. But beyond the hardware, it is also the software – core values like discipline and teamwork – that are equally, if not more, important.
As the guardian of our skies, the RSAF has done a outstanding job keeping us safe. I thank the generations of men and women who have faithfully served the RSAF and put the nation’s defence above all.
