澎湖算是台灣歷史的前哨站，明清時代，西方接觸，日治影響再到民國時期，但因為離島資源相較匱乏，土地相對貧瘠使得生活不易，居民陸續流失遷居至本島。
某個程度上，因觀光發展反而重新為這些離島的小村聚落注入新的生命。
照片1 - 取用在地建材資源咕咾石（珊瑚礁）建成的房屋。整個花宅村落可見的早期老厝幾乎都有使用咕咾石當建材。
照片2 - 早期風土淳樸，沒什麼在鎖門，以前人出門會用一根木棍橫栓在門外，這樣代表出遠門，如果只是出去一下，會斜放在門框門檻上。

照片4 - 因為過去澎湖海洋資源發達（採珠，漁業）望安曾經因貿易相當繁榮，甚至還有自己的製冰廠（漁業用，枝仔冰），因人口流失，自然資源減少，後來也就荒廢了。 @ 澎湖望安花宅村
