Proudly introducing the moderator of our E-Commerce Conference, Dr. Soo Wincci!

From singer, recording artist, actress, composer, celebrity chef, host, model, PhD holder to entrepreneur, Dr. Soo is a Multi Hybrid Artist, Academia Researcher, Producer and Beauty Queen from Malaysia.

Dr. Soo is a law graduate from the University of Reading (UK), a MBA holder from the University of Sunshine Coast (Australia), and a PhD recipient in Business Administration from Open University Malaysia. In 2018, she graduated with a Master's degree in Music Production, Technology & Innovation, and a Post Master Degree Fellowship from Berklee College of Music (Spain) in 2019. Currently, she once again broke the ordinary perception by challenging herself by embarking on her second PhD in Artistic Production at the University of Polytechnic, Spain.

Her other achievements and prestige awards highlights include Top 10 Most Outstanding Young Malaysian Ambassador (2020), Japan Tourism Board Ambassador (2017), Top 10 Most Outstanding Young Malaysian (2016), being invited for various intellectual variety shows in China as well as being selected as Cabloc, SK-II, Carnation, XES, Avon and Samsung brand ambassador. Besides, Dr. Soo holds 3 Malaysia Book of Records; became the first Miss World Malaysia to be awarded a PhD in 2016, and following that, she was crowned with two more titles - for the most number of academic degrees obtained by a beauty queen and a recording artist. In addition, Dr. Soo has been invited as a speaker for various events and conferences throughout the years.

簡單地說，
我好幸運認識好萊塢的音樂大師。

複雜地說，
她是Tina Wang，北藝大的學妹。
2015年6月，
繼多年前學校的合作之後我們睽違許久，
我榮幸再擔任Tina新作品的鋼琴演奏。
演出之後不久，她就獨自前往美國深造，
如今歷程，報導裡詳細。

以前在學校無論是接觸或使用流行/跨界音樂，
多少有點禁忌、有點不務正業。
從前我也茫然、也混亂，
第一次聆聽Tina的音樂，彷彿抓到一根浮木，
讓我多少有點憧憬、有點方向。

最重要的是
我們都一直寫作、演奏、歌頌著自己的音樂。

北藝大音樂系89級校友王倩婷（Tina Wang）身為新生代跨古典流行音樂作曲、編曲及演奏家，自十歲初見電影《末代皇帝》後，深受電影裡的配樂所感動，為此，在心底構築了邁向好萊塢電影配樂製作的夢想。

歷經了二十餘年多元類型的音樂創作經驗，王倩婷於2015年毅然決然放下手邊的流行音樂事業，直奔美國就讀電影配樂全美排名第一的南加州大學電影配樂系（USC Screen Scoring ），隔年即以優異的成績畢業，並獲頒系上為她所創立的「喬治．德萊魯獎」(Georges Delerue Conductor Award)。目前的她受邀擔任現任奧斯卡音樂類主席，也是艾美獎、葛萊美獎得主作曲家Laura Karpman女士於"Woman who score concert"擔任助理指揮，正式成為好萊塢電影配樂圈的一員。

回顧她的音樂創作之路，王倩婷於大學求學期間即在古典與流行音樂間，不斷來回穿梭研習。在北藝大就讀期間，她參加唱片公司新秀詞曲比賽奪冠，更成為EMI科藝百代簽過年紀最小的創作者，從此便開始接觸流行音樂、參與演唱會製作演出，逐漸拓展人脈，認識許多線上歌手與流行音樂創作人。

而多年工作經驗的累積，使王倩婷在南加大表現十分傑出，也被系主任引薦給好萊塢作曲家Bruce Broughton、奧斯卡音樂類主席及作曲家Laura Karpman等大師級人物，並在旁學習。

回想當初為了準備赴南加大，為課業而推掉所有的工作邀約，王倩婷說到，其實心情相當掙扎，尤其剛來時，一人隻身在語言不熟悉的美國倍感孤獨，卻告訴自己都已經下定決心來了，就必須往好萊塢去。她表示，電影配樂就像大海，是由自身的生命經驗、人生經歷與工作歷練匯集而成，才能作出動人的音樂。她認為，除了堅定自己的夢想之外，也是在因緣際會之下來到好萊塢電影配樂圈。

身在好萊塢這樣高手雲集的夢想之地，王倩婷時常惦記著南加大電影配樂系系主任給學生們的勉勵，「work hard、be nice」、get lucky」。因為，在好萊塢的每個人都是深藏不露，你永遠都不會知道面前的這個人是誰，也不會知道是不是難能可貴的機會，因此需不斷地充實自己的實力、待人謙遜以和，才會在機會降臨之時，擁有足夠的實力把握好運，除此之外，在好萊塢最根本的，其實是要學會如何「做人」。

另提及關於女性在好萊塢發展面臨到的困境，王倩婷說明，女性在好萊塢其實仍是相當辛苦的。在2014年前，參與頂尖的電影配樂圈僅有1%是女性，迄今則是有小幅成長至3%為女性作曲家。其中，她的老師Laura Karpman在2016年創立了「好萊塢女性電影作曲家協會」，時常提醒她們要積極建立自己的人脈，並且在機會降臨時也盡力去爭取，而Laura女士比男性還要強勢的工作態度，也勉勵著她在好萊塢工作要更加努力。

「做配樂如同服務業，如何以音樂角度來服務電影，以音樂輔助導演更完整的說故事。」王倩婷如此說著。多次經手配樂的她，認為配樂是要幫電影影像加分，輔助畫面與對白，並且在氛圍中流動，換言之，若不能讓音樂與畫面相輔相成，而是堅持自己音樂的想法，有時反而反客為主模糊了焦點。她並強調，恰如其份不嘩眾取寵的音樂，反而能使觀眾聚焦在戲劇本身。

展望未來，除了希望能將東方文化的精神與西方的音樂技術相互融合，王倩婷也鼓勵有志於音樂創作的學弟妹們要勇於實踐自己的夢想，儘管路途再艱難也不要害怕，多參與各類型的比賽，不斷地肯定及修正自己的態度與創作內容，才能有機會展現出自己的實力，發光發熱。

Tina Wang, who graduated from TNUA in 2000, is a pianist and composer who works across the boundaries of classical and pop music. Last year she achieved a major breakthrough realizing her dream of working in Hollywood – a dream she first made when she was deeply touched by the music watching “The Last Emperor” at the age of 10.

Wang started playing piano around the age of four and started to compose when she was eight. After obtaining her bachelor degree in Music Composition, she worked in the Asian music industry for 13 yeas as a composer, music director, and producer. Her composing experience includes music for orchestras, musicals, advertisements, films, television, and video games.

In 2015, she followed her dream to Los Angeles where she studied Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California (USC) Screen Scoring department under the guidance of Daniel Carlin. At USC Tina was honored with the Georges Delerue Conductor Award. She was invited to work as an assistant conductor to Laura Karpman for the 2016 Hollywood "Women Who Score Concert" hosted by the Alliance for Women Film Composers. Her latest work will be presented at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei.

Wang said it was quite a difficult decision to quit work and go study at USC. Despite the loneliness upon arrival at USC, she said she told herself that as she had made the decision, the only way ahead was towards Hollywood.

She said it is still not easy for women to work in Hollywood. Prior to 2014, women accounted for only 1% of the top film composers, and now the proportion has risen to only 3%.

“Doing film scores is like working in the service industry and you have to serve the film from the perspective of music, helping the director tell a more complete story,” Wang said. Having done many film score projects, Wang thinks film scores have to be a plus for the film images and dialogues. The score has to permeate the atmosphere, which means if the music cannot assist the images and makes a strong statement of its own, it will sometimes upstage the images and blur the focus. She stressed that proper and simple music allows the audience to focus on the drama itself.

Looking ahead, Wang said she hopes to blend the cultural essence of the East with the music technology of the East. She also encourages TNUA’s aspiring students to work hard towards realizing their dreams. The road ahead may be bumpy but they should not be afraid. She also encourages them to take part in different kinds of competition, constantly affirming and adjusting their attitudes and creativity. This is how they could demonstrate their capabilities and succeed.

黃紫盈 (Connie) 現為司儀、主持、影片監製及跨媒體自由工作者，活躍於商界及政府機構主辦的活動，為各類型公開活動擔任司儀（包括晚宴、產品發布會、頒獎禮、記者會和音樂會等），同時監製和主持旅遊、飲食及時尚生活資訊節目，包括《盈遊世界》、《尚駿生活》和《友飲友食》等。Connie 精通三文四語，包話粵語、英語、普通話和日語。在任職無綫電視新聞主播及記者期間，她曾主持 《香港早晨》、《立法會選舉特備節目》以及《311日本東北大地震一周年現場直播》等重要新聞環節。

Connie Wong is a professional emcee, programme host and producer actively involved in multi-media work. She is experienced in hosting various events (such as gala dinner, product launch, press briefing, award ceremony, music concert etc.), as well as infotainment programmes covering travel, food and lifestyle, e.g. "Travel Smart" and "Chic Life". Connie is fluent in Cantonese, English, Mandarin and Japanese. Previously, Connie was news anchor at TVB where she hosted several key featured news programmes including Good Morning Hong Kong, Legislative Council Election, and 311 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami One Year Anniversary.

Connie holds a bachelor degree in Journalism and Communication from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She also studied International Relations at Cambridge University in U.K., and Japanese Studies at Soka University in Japan. She is active in voluntary services and outdoor activities. She has been awarded the Gold Award of the Hong Kong Award for Young People (formerly known as The Duke of Edinburgh's Award).

黄紫盈（コニー・ウォン）はイベントMC、テレビ番組司会者、ラジオパーソナリティ、プロデューサーとして活躍。祝宴や製品発表会、授賞式、記者会見やコンサートの司会に加え、旅行や食、ライフスタイルの情報番組のレポーターも務めている。英語、中国語、広東語、日本語が堪能で、香港のテレビ局TVBのアナウンサー時代は「香港グッドモーニング」、「香港立法会選挙特別番組」、「3.11東日本大震災１周年放送」等、重要なニュースの報道を担当していた。

黄さんは香港中文大学のジャーナリズムコミュニケーション学部卒業。出身であり、在学籍中には英国・日本への留学し、も経験、ケンブリッジ大学では国際関係、日本創価大学で日本文化研究を専攻学。びました。また、慈善活動への積極的な参加が評価され、香港行政長官より青年奨励計画最高賞であるゴールド章受賞。の栄誉を受けました。
