【最高法院大法官在兒子畢業典禮上獨特的祝福：「我祝你不幸並痛苦」】

2005年，羅伯茨被小布什提名為首席大法官，直播期間宣佈提名時，羅伯茨時年4歲的小兒子傑克突然跳出來砸場子，在鏡頭前手舞足蹈，嗨到忘形。

後來，還是成功出任首席大法官的老爸揭秘：他跳的不是舞蹈，只是在模仿蜘蛛俠用手嗖嗖嗖發射蜘蛛網罷了。
12年過去了，少年蜘蛛俠即將從卡迪根山中學（cardigan mountain school）畢業，2017年7月3日，畢業典禮請來首席大法官羅伯茨致辭。
不同於普通的致辭者，羅伯茨對於孩子們的未來，卻發出了讓人大跌眼鏡的祝福和建議。
此外，他在致辭中援引了蘇格拉底名言：未經自審的人生沒有意義以及鮑勃迪倫的名作（永遠年輕）。
