在電影中男主角Cage不只擁有第二次機會，按照劇情的安排，Cage死了至少上百、甚至上千次。而Cage之所以必須要重複死亡這麼多次，就是因為他無法在更有效率地從每次錯誤中學習。其實人生時不時還是會給我們重來的機會，但這些機會只對懂得把握，並且能夠從上一次錯誤中學習的人來說才有意義。
