A fortuitous visit to a satellite of the Benaki Museum in Athens while researching her collaborative Cruise 2022 collection on.dior.com/cruise-22 led Maria Grazia Chiuri to the discovery of a traditional braid atelier, which in turn inspired the idea of using this trim for a hat. The House's millinery maestro, Stephen Jones discusses the development of the resulting fisherman's cap from the island of Hydra, its symbolism, savoir-faire and Dior transformation.

Collaborative artist Peter Doig offers illuminating insights into his work with Kim Jones and the House's creatives on the development of the Dior men's Winter 2021-2022 collection and show on.dior.com/winter21. His highly active involvement ranged from problem solving textile applications of his artworks to hand-painting felt bowler hats by the House's millinery maestro Stephen Jones, and his oeuvre directly informed the color story and elements such as the 'Dior and Peter Doig' camouflage motif.

A November 25 tradition perpetuated by all the couture houses in Paris, this year's St. Catherine's Day is being celebrated virtually for the first time. In honor of the patron saint of seamstresses, unmarried women (Catherinettes) and men (Nicolas) of ages 25 and 30, respectively, wear symbolic green and yellow hats for the occasion. The ritual was one of the most treasured moments of Monsieur Dior’s year, and has been continued by each of his successors. For the more than two decades he has been the House's head of millinery, Stephen Jones has overseen this charming activity. And here he speaks about how this year's straw hats were inspired by the creative aesthetic of Maria Grazia Chiuri, trimmed with the embroidered 'Christian Dior' ribbon associated with the 'Dior Book Tote' and accented with a puff of net.
