Double Fine Productions ได้ออกมายืนยันว่าเกม Psychonauts 2 จะนำเนื้อหาที่กำลังถูกตัดทิ้งกลับมาพัฒนาใส่ในเกมอีกครั้ง หลังจากทีมงานถูกครอบครองโดยบริษัท Microsoft อย่างเป็นทางการ

Tim Schafer ระบุกับ GameIndustry.biz ว่าหลังจากทีมงานกลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ Xbox Game Studios ก็ทำให้มีงบประมาณการสร้างเกมที่สูงขึ้น ซึ่งส่งผลทำให้เนื้อหาเกมที่กำลังอยู่ในขั้นตอนตัดทิ้ง สามารถกลับใส่ในเกมได้อีกครั้ง
